Where Winds Meet: How to Increase Max Endurance

Boost your stamina meter by submitting regional Oddities to the Melodies of Peace collection in Qinghe, Kaifeng, and Hexi.

Boost your stamina meter by submitting regional Oddities to the Melodies of Peace collection in Qinghe, Kaifeng, and Hexi.

Your character in Where Winds Meet has a stamina meter, called Endurance, that drains every time you dash, jump, climb, wall run, or use a movement skill. A small bar makes exploring the open world and repositioning in combat feel restrictive, so raising the maximum is one of the most useful early upgrades you can chase.

Quick answer: Collect regional Oddities, then take them to the Melodies of Peace exchanger in that same region and unlock the nodes marked with the flying figure symbol. Each of those nodes gives +5 Max Endurance.

How the Melodies of Peace endurance upgrade works

Max Endurance increases are tied to the Melodies of Peace collection. Every region has its own version of this upgrade tree, and each tree has its own set of node requirements. You unlock nodes by handing over Oddities to that region’s exchanger.

The endurance nodes are easy to spot inside the tree. They use a flying or gliding figure symbol, and each one you unlock adds +5 Max Endurance. The same tree also holds other upgrades, so you will see nodes for Max HP, Max Vitality, Physical Defense, Physical Attack, damage bonuses against monsters, and even new Inner Way skills mixed in alongside the endurance ones.

Note: Oddities are region-locked. An Oddity you pick up in Qinghe can only be submitted to the Qinghe tree, so you cannot pool everything into a single region. To keep raising Endurance, you need to work each region’s tree separately.

Where to find and collect Oddities

Oddities are scattered across the open world and appear as winged, butterfly or dragonfly-style icons on your mini-map. When one of these icons shows up nearby, an Oddity is close.

Travel toward the winged icon on your mini-map until you reach the Oddity’s location. Examples include the Ironwing Mantis, Enchanting Lotus, Redmist Beetle, Dagger General, and Whisper Hive.
Collect the Oddity using the method it requires. Some need a specific interaction rather than a simple pickup. For an Enchanting Lotus, press and hold the V key, follow the blue trail to find two groups of flying butterflies, then shoot them with your bow to complete the collection.

Gather as many of the region’s Oddities as you can before heading to the exchanger, since each node in the tree costs Oddities to unlock.

Melodies of Peace exchangers and locations

Each region has one NPC who opens the Melodies of Peace tree. Speak to them, choose the Oddity submission option, and spend your Oddities on the endurance nodes.

Qi Sheng in Qinghe is the first exchanger most players reach, since Qinghe is the starting region. He is easy to miss, which means many players never open the tree at all and skip these upgrades entirely.

Unlocking endurance nodes step by step

Go to the exchanger for the region whose Oddities you have collected. In Qinghe, head to Qi Sheng between General’s Shrine and Bamboo Retreat.

Talk to the NPC and select the Oddity submission option (shown as “Oddity Exchange” or “Submit Oddities”). This opens the Melodies of Peace menu with all of that region’s nodes.
Look for nodes marked with the flying figure symbol. These are the Max Endurance nodes, and each grants +5 Max Endurance when unlocked.
Submit the required Oddities to unlock the endurance nodes. Because the tree branches, you may need to unlock connecting nodes first to reach a specific endurance node deeper in the tree.
Repeat the same process in Kaifeng with Bai Ji and in Hexi with Qi Xian, using Oddities collected from each of those regions.

How to confirm your Endurance increased

When an endurance node unlocks in the Melodies of Peace tree, your maximum stamina meter grows by 5. You can verify it by checking the length of your stamina bar during movement, or by opening your character stats to see the higher Max Endurance value.

If a node will not unlock, the usual reason is that you do not have the correct Oddities for that region, or you have not yet unlocked the connecting nodes leading to it. Remember that Oddities from one region cannot be spent in another region’s tree.

Regions that do not offer endurance upgrades

Not every region’s Melodies of Peace tree includes endurance. Two areas have no Max Endurance nodes at all, so there is no point hunting Oddities there for stamina.

  • Kaifeng Imperial Palace
  • Hidden Mountain

Stick to Qinghe, Kaifeng, and Hexi when your goal is a larger stamina meter. Work each of those three trees in turn, submit the endurance nodes as you unlock them, and your Max Endurance will climb by +5 with every one you complete.
