The Greenshade Village Rites exam in Where Winds Meet is a short quiz with five questions. A scholar cat named Meow Meow sits under a covered shelter beside an Exam Basket. Each question quotes a classical thinker, including Mencius, Xunzi, Zhuangzi and Sima Qian, and asks you to pick the meaning from four options. You need a perfect score to pass, so every answer below has to be right.
Quick answer: Open the Exam Basket, choose “Take the Trials of the Six Arts,” then answer D, B, C, B, D to score 100/100.
Start the Six Arts – Rites exam at Greenshade Village
Meow Meow is easy to spot. Look for a cat in a scholar’s cap sitting under a pavilion in Greenshade Village, with the Exam Basket placed right next to it. The quiz runs entirely through dialogue, so you don’t need any items or skills to begin.

| Question | Topic | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mencius on wealth, poverty and power | D. Those who hold fast to their integrity |
| 2 | Mencius on caring for elders | B. Show respect to our elders and to elders from other families |
| 3 | Xunzi on small steps and a thousand li | C. Major ambitions come to fruition through modest, consistent advances |
| 4 | Zhuangzi’s frog at the bottom of a well | B. A person constrained by their circumstances and limited in perspective |
| 5 | Mount Tai and a feather in the Records of the Grand Historian | D. That the value of death is not the same |
The questions appear in the fixed order shown above. Each one opens with a playful line from Meow Meow, such as “Let meow test you!” or “Human, let meow quiz you!” Match the topic in the table to the quote on screen before you pick a letter.
Questions 1 and 2: Mencius
Both opening questions quote Mencius. The first describes people who can’t be corrupted by wealth, shaken by poverty, or bent by threats, and the correct answer is the option about integrity. The second asks what it means to honor your own elders and then extend that care to others. Pick B, which covers both your own elders and everyone else’s.

Questions 3 and 4: Xunzi and Zhuangzi
Question 3 quotes Xunzi’s line that you can’t travel a thousand li without adding up small steps. The answer is C, steady progress toward a big goal. Question 4 uses Zhuangzi’s frog that can’t understand the sea. The frog stands for someone with a narrow view shaped by their surroundings, which is option B.

Question 5: Sima Qian
The final question draws on the Records of the Grand Historian, contrasting deaths heavier than Mount Tai with deaths lighter than a feather. The remaining three choices treat the mountain and feather as literal things, so D is correct: a death’s value can vary.

Greenshade Village Rites exam rewards
Once you submit, the score screen should read Exam Score 100/100. Meow Meow then congratulates you on your “sharp mind and vast knowledge” and hands over the following rewards.
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Golden Peach Pit | x5 |
| Coin | +3750 |
| Oscillating Jade | x20 |
| Stored EXP | +3750 |
| Super Leek Manual | x1 (quest clue item) |
The Super Leek Manual is a clue item, not a crafting material. Picking it up triggers a “Wandering Tales – New Clue Acquired” notice for the tale The Way of the Leek.
Check the Qingzhou: Paws on Point achievement and The Way of the Leek
A passed exam counts as a solved Meow Meow puzzle toward Qingzhou: Paws on Point. That achievement asks you to solve 6 Meow Meow Puzzles in Qingzhou. If the Rites exam is your sixth, the achievement unlocks right after the reward popup. You can confirm it in the Achievements tab.

To confirm the quest side, open Wandering Tales and look for The Way of the Leek. It appears with its new clue recorded. Seeing the 100/100 score, the Super Leek Manual in your rewards, and that Wandering Tales entry means the Greenshade Village Rites trial is done.
