Where Winds Meet: Scarab’s Rebirth Walkthrough in Hidden Mountain

Scarab’s Rebirth is a Wandering Tale in the Hidden Mountain region of Where Winds Meet, set within the Heaven’s Threshold area. It is a short fetch task that sends you to an NPC named Xiaofang, then out to a nearby enemy camp to recover a broken mechanical scarab before bringing it back to him.

Quick answer: Speak to Xiaofang near Starseek Trail (northwest of Mirkvale), travel north to the enemy camp and defeat the Qiongqi enemies, pick up the Battered Wooden Scarab from the wooden debris, then return and use the Give option to hand it to Xiaofang.

Where to start Scarab’s Rebirth

The quest begins in Heaven’s Threshold, the Hidden Mountain chapter that opens up the region’s mechanical themes. Your first goal is to reach Xiaofang, who sits on a rock in the area northwest of Mirkvale, close to the Starseek Trail landmark.

Open the map and use the Starseek Trail teleport to get near the start. Set a marker on the quest location northwest of Mirkvale so you can navigate straight to it.

Travel to the marked spot and talk to Xiaofang. His dialogue starts the tale and reveals that he needs a damaged scarab retrieved.

Clear the enemy camp and grab the Battered Wooden Scarab

After the conversation, the next objective sits north of Xiaofang. The scarab is held inside an enemy camp, so you will need to fight through the group stationed there before you can collect it.

Mark the next objective further north on the map, then run through the forest to reach the camp.

Defeat the Qiongqi enemies guarding the camp. The objective updates once every hostile in the area is down.

With the camp cleared, interact with the wooden debris to pick up the Battered Wooden Scarab. This is the item Xiaofang wants back.

Return the scarab to Xiaofang

The final part is a simple delivery back to where the tale began. Set your marker on Xiaofang and travel south to reach him again.

Place a temporary waypoint on Xiaofang’s location and follow it back to his rock.

Talk to Xiaofang and choose the Give option to hand over the Battered Wooden Scarab. This closes out the tale and pays out its rewards.

You know the tale is finished when the dialogue wraps and the reward screen appears. There is no separate return trip or follow-up objective after the delivery.
