Where the Al’Aketh enemies spawn inside the Shrine of Akir, and who takes the quest turn-in.

Making Our Move is a kill-objective quest that sends you into the Shrine of Akir to thin out the Al’Aketh forces holding the ruins. It looks intimidating on the map because the shrine is a large, multi-level temple complex, but the enemies you need are packed tightly around the staircases and courtyards near the entrance.

Quick answer: Travel to the Shrine of Akir, kill the required Al’Aketh Blademasters, Guardians and Spiritcallers in the ruins, then climb the grand staircase and turn the quest in to the Quickbreeze NPC at the top.

Picking up Making Our Move

The quest is handed out by Valentia Stormfist in Duskberry Lowlands, alongside the other High Order officers gathered there. Accepting it plays a short conversation between the assembled NPCs as they settle on the assault plan and discuss calling in outside help, and you can start moving while it plays out.

Once it is in your log, open your map. The objective area is marked at the Shrine of Akir, a ruined temple site sitting apart from the quest hub, and the marker covers the whole shrine rather than one precise spot.

Getting to the Shrine of Akir

Follow the road out of the quest hub toward the marked area. The run takes roughly a minute at ground speed, and the path is straightforward enough that you rarely need to check the map more than once along the way.

Steer around the Gale Striders that roam the open ground between the hub and the ruins. They are not part of the quest, and fighting them only slows the trip down.
Head for the large stone gateway that marks the shrine entrance. This is your staging point, and the first Al’Aketh enemies are visible from here.

Where each Al’Aketh enemy type spawns

Three enemy types count toward the quest, and each one has its own counter on the tracker. They are mixed together rather than separated, so you will usually finish one counter well before the others.

EnemyWhere they gather
Al’Aketh BlademasterRuins on the right side, circular platform
Al’Aketh GuardianStaircases and stone platforms
Al’Aketh SpiritcallerLower courtyard, temple steps

The caster type also shows up under the Skypriest and Spellcaller labels depending on where you engage it, so check the objective counter rather than the enemy nameplate to confirm the kill registered.

Clearing the kill objectives

Move into the ruins on the right-hand side of the entrance. This pocket holds a dense mix of Blademasters, Guardians and Spiritcallers, and it is the fastest place to start filling multiple counters at once.

Pull enemies one or two at a time on the staircases. Guardians patrol these steps in clusters, and dragging three or four together is the most common way to die here.

Drop into the lower courtyard for the Spiritcallers. They are casters, so close the gap quickly and interrupt or burst them down instead of trading at range.
Sweep the stone platforms and the circular platform for whatever the tracker still lists. Blademasters tend to be the last counter to fill, and the tracker will point you at the final one.

The Al’Aketh drop copper and linen cloth along the way, so it is worth looting as you go rather than skipping corpses.

Group up to share kill credit

Kill credit for this quest is shared across a party, so inviting anyone else working the shrine roughly halves the time it takes. The shrine is a natural bottleneck, and other players are usually standing on the same steps fighting the same Guardians.

  • Right-click a nearby player’s portrait or name and invite them to a party.
  • Stay close enough that you are both tagged into the same fights.
  • Both counters tick up from the same kill, so there is no need to split packs.

Turning in the quest and what follows

Once every counter reads complete, climb the grand staircase that leads into the main temple structure. The turn-in NPC is a Quickbreeze standing partway up those steps, and the quest log updates the moment all three kill objectives finish, so you will know before you start the climb.

Handing it in immediately offers the follow-up quest, The Inner Sanctum, which continues deeper into the temple. If no follow-up appears, one of the kill counters has not finished and the quest has not actually been turned in yet.
