Quick answer: Shadowfang Keep is designed for five players and is located in the western part of Silverpine Forest, below The Sepulcher. The recommended minimum level is 18.

Where is Shadowfang Keep?

Shadowfang Keep sits in the western part of Silverpine Forest, near the coast and south of The Sepulcher. On the Silverpine Forest map, look a little left of centre and slightly below the middle. That is where the entrance is.

Your nearest flight path depends on your faction. The distances below are straight lines on the map, not walking routes.

  • Horde: The Sepulcher is the closest flight path inside Silverpine Forest. The entrance lies to its south.
  • Alliance: Southshore in Hillsbrad is the closest Alliance flight path. The entrance lies to its west.

The keep is in Horde territory. Alliance players can still run it, but getting there means a longer trip through hostile land.

Shadowfang Keep level and group size

The game recommends level 18 and up for Shadowfang Keep, and it is built for a group of 5 players. That recommended level is the point where the game suggests starting the dungeon. Both factions can run it with a full group of five.

Shadowfang Keep bosses

There are eight bosses, and you meet them in this order.

  1. Rethilgore
  2. Razorclaw the Butcher
  3. Baron Silverlaine
  4. Commander Springvale
  5. Odo the Blindwatcher
  6. Fenrus the Devourer
  7. Wolf Master Nandos
  8. Archmage Arugal

Archmage Arugal is the final boss. Taking him down completes the dungeon.

Legacy achievement

Clearing Shadowfang Keep counts toward Novice Spelunker, whose in-game text reads “Complete the following dungeons.” The achievement rewards 1 Legacy Point. To get credit for each dungeon on the list, including this one, you need to defeat its final boss, which here is Archmage Arugal.
