Original and new dungeons list their levels in two different ways. The 19 original dungeons show a recommended starting level in the game, written here as a single number with a plus sign, such as 13+. The nine new dungeons use Blizzard’s level range, such as 13-18. If you see a plus sign, that is the level to start running the dungeon. If you see a range, the dungeon is built for that span of levels.

Dungeons by level bracket
The run order below is a recommendation. It gives a suggested order for running dungeons as you level. Some early dungeons sit in the other faction’s territory, so the closest option at a given level depends on which side you play.
Levels 13-20
Horde players open with Ragefire Chasm in Orgrimmar, and Alliance players open with Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge. After that, the order is Ruins of Lordaeron, Deadmines, Wailing Caverns and Shadowfang Keep.
Levels 20-30
This bracket starts at Blackfathom Deeps in Ashenvale, then moves to Stormwind Stockade and Razorfen Kraul. Next come Excavation Site, Gnomeregan and, last, City of Dalaran in Alterac Mountains.
Levels 30-45
Begin with Scarlet Monastery, then go to Razorfen Downs, Uldaman and The Drowned City. Finish the bracket with Krol’dok Stronghold, Zul’Farrak and Maraudon.
Levels 45-60
The final stretch goes Sunken Temple, Blackrock Depths, Alcaz Prison, Blackrock Spire and Dire Maul. Then come Stratholme, Blackmaw Hold, Scholomance and, at the level cap, Shaper’s Terrace.
New dungeons in WoW Forever
WoW Forever adds nine new five-player dungeons for levels 13 to 60, spread across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. They fit between the original dungeons, so most brackets have at least one new option.
- Hall of Thanes (13-18): Dun Morogh, beneath Ironforge. Alliance side, 4 bosses.
- Ruins of Lordaeron (15-20): Tirisfal Glades, above the Undercity. Horde side, 7 bosses.

The two earliest new dungeons each favor one faction. Alliance players can reach Hall of Thanes easily from Ironforge, but Horde groups have to travel into Alliance territory to get there. Ruins of Lordaeron works the other way around. Horde players reach it easily from the Undercity, and Alliance groups have to go into Horde territory.
City of Dalaran has an attunement questline. For Alliance players, it starts with “An Alarming Request” from Emissary Jacques in Southshore. The entrance to The Drowned City is under water, off the coast west of Grom’gol. Blackmaw Hold is a large max-level dungeon with multiple routes.
