Ghost Recon Wildlands Last Rites: How to Complete Operation Lazarus (Mission 1)

The loadout, route, and intel locations that carry you through the first mission and out of the blacksite.

The loadout, route, and intel locations that carry you through the first mission and out of the blacksite.

Operation Lazarus is the opening mission of the Last Rites campaign in Ghost Recon Wildlands, a separate save file you start from the main menu. It drops you into a stripped-back version of Bolivia where Unidad is the only military force, rebel support is gone, and your goal is to track down the cult leader known as La Llorona. The mission ends once you recover intel on her from a Unidad blacksite and slip out of its alarm radius.

Quick answer: Clear the Unidad outpost in Caimanes and grab the Picture Evidence Intel, drive south to the blacksite, disable the drone jammer by knocking out its generator, then take the intel from the top room of the two-floor building and leave the blacksite radius to complete the mission.

What changes in Last Rites before you start

The Last Rites campaign covers four reworked regions from the base game: Caimanes, Ocoro, Villa Verde, and Espiritu Santo. Operation Lazarus takes place entirely in Caimanes, a zone full of waterways and thick jungle. Several of the support systems you may be used to are switched off here, so plan around them.

NotorietyRises fast if you fight loudly

Because reinforcements keep arriving the more you engage head-on, stealth is the safer approach throughout. A workable loadout is an assault rifle and sniper combo for range and precision, plus a silenced pistol such as the Lady Killer. Bring the Medic Drone as your support item, especially on harder difficulties, and use Thermal Vision to spot enemies through rain or low light before pairing it with your team’s Sync Shot.

Clear the Unidad outpost and grab the Picture Evidence Intel

From Caimanes Delta, head toward the objective marker for the Unidad outpost. With no vehicles to summon, take a boat along the waterways. Expect patrols on the water and clear them quietly as you go.

As you near the outpost, launch your drone to tag the guards. Mark and take down groups with Sync Shot, but keep engagements controlled so you don’t pull in extra Unidad forces.
With the outpost clear, enter the house with the red roof and pick up the Picture Evidence Intel from the table inside. It gets marked on your screen once you are close.

Check the first floor of the nearby building to collect the intel you came for. It points you to a Unidad blacksite in the southern part of Caimanes.

Drive south to the blacksite and disable the drone jammer

The blacksite sits more than 2 km away, so grab the multi-seater van parked in front of the red-roofed building. Follow the road and watch for patrolling Unidad vehicles that will open fire on you.
Drive through Puerto Chico village until you reach a bridge. Stop here and scout the far side, because Unidad has massed inside a Combat Outpost on the route to the blacksite.
Clear the Combat Outpost rather than skirting it by boat. There is a generator at the back you can destroy to trigger a blackout, which makes the fight easier.
Cross the small bridge toward the island where the blacksite is located. A drone jammer here blocks your recon, so head to the generator powering it and disable or destroy that. Taking down the generator is the safer choice, since it also cuts electricity and alarms.

Move onto the island on foot through the shallow water and past the chainlink fence. The base is empty at this point, with slaughtered Unidad soldiers scattered around. Reach the drone jammer and disable it.

Find the intel on La Llorona and leave to finish the mission

Go to the two-floor building near the jammer and check the room at the top to collect the intel on La Llorona.
Picking it up triggers Unidad forces to spawn around the building. Let your AI teammates handle the pressure and use Sync Shot on any groups that rush you.
These enemies keep respawning, so don’t try to wipe them all. Move out of the blacksite’s radius to break contact and lose them.

Once you clear the blacksite radius after grabbing the intel, Operation Lazarus registers as complete and the campaign moves on. If enemies keep spawning without end, you are still inside the alarm zone; put more distance between yourself and the base until the pursuit stops.
