Favorite Show Dress To Impress: 2 Outfit Ideas (Gothic School and Pale Blue Gown)

Two finished looks for the Favorite Show theme, with every piece, palette spot and material you need to rebuild them.

Two finished looks for the Favorite Show theme, with every piece, palette spot and material you need to rebuild them.

Favorite Show is one of the open themes in Dress To Impress: the lobby banner reads only “Theme: Favorite Show” and names no series, so you choose a character from a TV show you like and dress as them. We built two complete looks for it in Freeplay Mode, with our own picture for every step: a gothic black-and-white school look and a pale blue ruffled ball gown.

Quick answer: The game names no show, so use one character’s signature colours: a black shirt with white trim, a black ruffle skirt with a white hem and long black curls, or a pale blue Silk ruffled gown with pale blonde curls.

The shows named in this guide are our own ideas, not something the game asks for. If your favourite is a gothic school drama such as Wednesday, the first look fits; if it is a regency drama such as Bridgerton, try the second. Neither look has walked a real Favorite Show round, so we cannot tell you how voters score them.

Favorite Show outfit ideas in Dress To Impress

Look 1: Gothic black-and-white school look

Our idea for this one is a gothic school character, the kind of look Wednesday made famous: black and white only, a ruffle skirt and long dark hair. It reuses the shirt and skirt from our Summer Cruise sailor look, recoloured from the Wearing panel. Starting fresh, the shirt is the pale blue one on the top shelf of the tops shelf next to the white hooded robe mannequin, and the skirt is the left-hand bust on the party-dress shelf on the right-hand wall of the main hall (click its lower half; worn, it is a short ruffled skirt only). The hair is the long curls from Lana’s Salon (Feminine tab, 3rd card).

We started from the sailor look: a white shirt with a red neck bow, a white, navy and red ruffle skirt, a white sun hat and pale blonde curls.

Our starting point: the sailor look and its pieces in the Wearing panel.
Open the Wearing panel (the round hat button on the right side) and take the sun hat off with the heart X under its picture.

Click the shirt’s picture in the Wearing panel. On “1/3: Shirt”, choose black (column 9, row 8) on the Palette tab, then open “+” and pick Matte.

Last, the boots. We still wore the fringed knee boots from an earlier build. Click their picture and set “1/3: Preview”, “2/3: Preview” and “3/3: Preview” to black with Leather.

The fringe and the lower boot turn black, but the turned-down cuff and the laces stay orange-brown, so the footwear does not fully match. Black knee boots stand on the lower shelf beside the tops shelf; we did not try them with this look.

The finished look: a black shirt with white ribbon trim along the neckline and small white bands at the shoulders, a thin black ribbon tied at the throat, a black ruffle mini skirt with a white ruffle hem, and long black curls. The shirt and skirt cover the character’s base top and shorts, and the blue arms and legs are the skintone, not gloves or tights.

Look 2: Pale blue ball gown

Our idea here is a regency ball gown in the spirit of Bridgerton: a pale, floor-length ruffled gown in icy blue and white with soft blonde curls. The gown is the long pale pink ruffled tiered gown on the mannequin beside the party-dress shelf on the right-hand wall of the main hall. It has five parts, and we coloured it while Look 1 was still on.

Click the gown on its mannequin once and wait. It previews on you, still pale pink, and its colour panel opens at “1/5: Skirt”.

The character’s dark base top and shorts are part of the body, not a piece, so they cannot be taken off, only covered. With nothing over the gown, the black base top shows at the chest above a bare middle. A white or pale blue top over it should hide it; we did not try one.

From the back, the pale blonde curls run down over the ruffled tiers.

Why these looks read as Favorite Show

The theme asks the room to recognise a character, so a tight colour scheme and one signature shape do more than a mix of pieces. Black and white with a ruffle skirt and long dark hair says gothic school at a glance; a pale, floor-length ruffled gown with soft blonde curls says period drama. If your show is a different one, keep the same idea: pick the two or three colours the character is known for and use them on every part. This is plain styling advice; neither look has been through a real Favorite Show vote.

How to recolour a piece and set its material

Click the piece on its shelf, bust or mannequin, or click its picture in the Wearing panel if you already wear it.
Pick the part with the arrows; the label shows it as “n/N: …”.
Choose the colour on the Palette tab.
Open “+” and click the material.
Repeat for each part. A new piece previews on you while you set it; take a piece off with the heart X under its picture in the Wearing panel.

Material tiles with a gold star are star-locked; do not click them. The panel itself says “Some materials only work with higher qualities.” The pictures in the Wearing panel keep each piece’s original colours (the curls still show brown there), so judge a colour on the character, not on its picture.

Favorite Show colours on the Default palette

On the Default palette, columns run left to right as red, pink, purple, blue, cyan, green, lime, yellow and orange/brown. Rows run top to bottom, and row 8 goes from white in column 1 to black in column 9. These are the spots we used.

Favorite Show pieces to look for

None of these pieces has a name in the game, so look for them by place and shape. All of them are free in Freeplay Mode and worked on our account with no VIP and 0 stars.

Poses for Favorite Show

We did not set a pose for these two looks. The Poses button on the right side opens the “Poses” panel with Solo and Duo tabs and a Search Bar; the Solo list includes Dazzle, Pearly, Crystal, Sparkle, Daisy and Blossom. For what each pose looks like and which ones are free, see our guide to every free pose in Dress To Impress.

Building it in Freeplay Mode first

Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to build a character look, try black against white or pale blue against cream, and check how it reads on the Freeplay Runway before you need it in a round. Once a look works, you know which shelf, which palette spots and which materials to go to when Favorite Show comes up for real. For more themes built the same way, see our Boho, Robot Takeover, Album Cover, Potion Maker, Monochrome Mood, Divine Beings, Drag, Sweet 16, Camouflage, Deserted Island and Summer Cruise outfit ideas.

How a theme round works

Join Dress To Impress on Roblox and watch the banner at the top of the main lobby. Favorite Show came up there as an ordinary Casual Server round while we played, with 05:16 on the timer under “Theme: Favorite Show”; we went to Freeplay Mode instead of dressing for it.

The Favorite Show banner in a Casual Server round.

From rounds on other themes (Plaid Fashion, Birds of Paradise and Patterned tights): the icon at the top centre opens a hint card for the theme, and after dressing each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen. A “Results” card then ranks the players with the stars each earned, followed by an “Intermission” countdown of about a minute.

The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux (we did not buy, so we did not see how many props that gets). We saw no free way to choose Favorite Show, so without Robux you wait for it to roll.

What we have not checked

These looks have not walked a real Favorite Show round, so there is no score, star count or vote for them. We set no pose for them and used no accessories or makeup, and the boots in Look 1 only partly turned black. Both were built with 0 stars and 245 pink cash, and nothing was bought.

FAQ

What does Favorite Show mean in Dress To Impress?

It asks you to dress as a character from a TV show you like. The game names no show, so any show works, as long as the look is recognisable.

Does the game tell you which show to dress as?

No. The banner only reads “Theme: Favorite Show”. The Wednesday and Bridgerton ideas in this guide are our own suggestions.

Can I do Favorite Show without VIP?

Yes. Both looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece, colour and material used here worked on it. Nothing was bought.

How do I make a gothic school outfit?

Recolour the shirt with ribbons black with white trim and a black neck ribbon, wear it over the short ruffled skirt in black with a white hem, and make the long curls black. Look 1 above has every part.

Can I pick the Favorite Show theme?

Only with Theme Props, which cost Robux (the “Buy More” button shows 75). We bought none and saw no free ones, so we waited for the theme to roll.
