Summer Cruise in Dress To Impress asks for a holiday-on-a-ship look. There are two directions that fit. One is an evening-on-deck dinner gown in navy, white and gold. The other is a nautical sailor outfit in white, navy and red. Both are topped with a white sun hat. We built both in Freeplay Mode on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, with nothing bought.
Quick answer: Dress in navy, white, red and gold with a white sun hat: a navy Silk ruffled gown with white details and a gold Metallic belt, or a white sailor shirt with a red neck ribbon over a navy and red ruffle skirt.
Summer Cruise colours on the Default palette
Every piece in Dress To Impress is recoloured part by part (colour on the Palette tab, material on “+”), so the cruise look comes down to a handful of swatches. On the Default palette, columns run left to right as red, pink, purple, blue, cyan, green, lime, yellow and orange/brown. Rows run top to bottom, and row 8 goes from white through to black.
| Colour | Column | Row | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Navy | 4 | 7 | Gown skirt, ribbons, ruffle layer |
| White | 1 | 8 | Gown details, shirt, skirt, hat |
| Red | 1 | 5 | Neck ribbon, ruffle layer |
| Gold | 9 | 4 | Gown belt |
| Pale yellow | 8 | 2 | Hair, part 1 |
| Cream | 9 | 2 | Hair, part 2 |

Add to Google Preferences →How picking and recolouring works in the Dressing Room
Build both looks in Freeplay Mode, in the Dressing Room. The game shows no item names. Clothes are 3D pieces on shelves, busts and mannequins. That’s why each piece below is described by where it sits.
- Click a piece once and wait. Its colour panel opens and the piece previews on your character.
- Set each part’s colour on the Palette tab and its material on the fourth tab, marked “+”.
- Set every part while the piece previews, then press Put On (closing the panel also kept our pieces on). It then appears in the Wearing panel.
- To recolour something you already wear, open the Wearing panel with the round hat button on the right side.
- To take a piece off, use the heart X under its picture in the Wearing panel.
Tiles with a star badge are star-locked. Don’t click them; nothing in these two looks needs stars.
Summer Cruise outfit ideas in Dress To Impress
Look 1: Navy and white cruise dinner gown
This is the evening-on-deck look: one long gown in navy, white and gold under a white sun hat. The gown is the long pale pink ruffled tiered gown on the mannequin beside the party-dress shelf, the hat comes from the boho mannequin next to the tops shelf, and the hair is the long curls from Lana’s Salon (Feminine tab, 3rd card).

On the Freeplay Runway the gown reads royal blue rather than navy, with white flower-shaped details down the ruffled tiers, a white hem and a gold belt of coin-like discs at the waist. The white brim and the pale blonde curls sit on top.

The character’s dark base top and shorts are part of the body, not a piece. They cannot be taken off, only covered. With no top over the gown, the black base top shows at the chest above a bare middle; a white top over it would cover it.
From the back, the hat brim frames the long curls, and the navy tiers run down to the floor.

Look 2: Sailor shirt and ruffle skirt
This is the nautical look in sailor colours: white, navy and red. It uses two separate pieces, a short ruffled skirt and a shirt with ribbons, and keeps the white sun hat and pale blonde curls from Look 1. The skirt is on the left-hand bust of the party-dress shelf on the right-hand wall of the main hall (the shelf of busts with short white and pink party pieces); the shirt is on the top shelf of the tops shelf next to the white hooded robe mannequin.

Worn on its own, the piece is a short ruffled skirt only, with no top part: a white waistband over navy and red ruffles. Its Wearing picture shows it white.

The shirt goes on white with navy ribbon trim and a red bow at the neck, and it covers the base top.

The finished sailor look: a white shirt with a red neck bow and navy ribbon, a short skirt with navy and red ruffles below it, the white wide-brim hat and pale blonde curls. The character’s blue skin is the skintone, not tights or gloves.

The fringed knee boots that read mustard with darker spots were already on from an earlier build, and we did not recolour them for this theme. They show below the short skirt; recolouring them white or navy to match is an option we did not try.
In the Crystal pose the character stands facing forward with the arms down, so the red bow and navy ribbon sit front and centre.

From the back, the curls fall over the white shirt to the navy and red ruffles.

Why these looks read as Summer Cruise
A cruise is a summer holiday at sea, so both looks lean on nautical colours. Navy, white and red are sailor colours, gold belongs to an evening dinner on deck, and a wide white sun hat says summer straight away. Silk gives the gown a soft sheen without turning it into a glitter look. This is plain styling advice: neither look has been through a real Summer Cruise vote.
How to recolour a piece and set its material
Material tiles with a gold star are star-locked; do not click them. The panel itself says “Some materials only work with higher qualities.”
Summer Cruise pieces to look for
None of these pieces has a name in the game, so look for them by place and shape. All of them are free in Freeplay Mode and worked on our account with no VIP and 0 stars.

Poses for Summer Cruise
The Poses button on the right side opens the “Poses” panel with Solo and Duo tabs and a Search Bar. The Solo list starts Satin, Lilac, Dazzle, Pearly, Crystal, Sparkle, Daisy. We used Dazzle for the gown and Crystal for the sailor look. Neither showed a price or lock.

Building it in Freeplay Mode first
Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to build a look, try navy against white, and check how it reads on the Freeplay Runway before you need it in a round. Once a look works, you know which shelf, which palette spots and which materials to go to when Summer Cruise comes up for real. For more themes built the same way, see our Boho, Robot Takeover, Album Cover, Potion Maker, Monochrome Mood, Divine Beings, Drag, Sweet 16, Camouflage and Deserted Island outfit ideas.
How a theme round works
Join Dress To Impress on Roblox and watch the banner at the top of the main lobby. We watched rounds on other themes (Plaid Fashion and Birds of Paradise among them); Summer Cruise did not come up. The banner shows the theme, for example “Theme: Plaid Fashion”, with a timer below it (04:33 left when we saw it), and the icon at the top centre opens a hint card for the theme. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen. A “Results” card then ranks the players with the stars each earned, followed by an “Intermission” countdown of about a minute.
The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux (we did not buy, so we did not see how many props that gets). We saw no free way to choose Summer Cruise, so without Robux you wait for it to roll. We did not dress for the rounds we watched, so we earned no stars.
What we have not checked
We did not look for sandals, sunglasses or anchor accessories, and the fringed knee boots were not recoloured for this theme. Summer Cruise did not come up in the rounds we watched, so these looks have not been through a real vote and we cannot tell you how many stars they earn. Both were built with 0 stars and 245 pink cash, and nothing was bought.
FAQ
What does Summer Cruise mean in Dress To Impress?
It asks for a holiday-at-sea look. Our two outfits are an evening dinner gown in navy, white and gold, and a sailor look in white, navy and red, both with a white sun hat.
Can I do Summer Cruise without VIP?
Yes. Both looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece, colour, material and pose used here worked on it. Nothing was bought.
Which colours say cruise?
On the Default palette: navy (column 4, row 7), white (column 1, row 8), red (column 1, row 5) and gold (column 9, row 4).
How do I make a sailor outfit?
Recolour the shirt with ribbons white with navy ribbon trim and a red neck ribbon, and wear it over the short ruffled skirt in white, navy and red. Look 2 above has every part.
Where is the sun hat?
On the boho mannequin next to the tops shelf in the Dressing Room. Only its “1/3: Hat” part needs to change to white.
