Roll Anime to Fight Traits: How to Roll Them and Which Are Best

Everything the Trait Machine does, the full list of 17 Traits with roll chances, and which ones belong on your carries.

Traits are stat modifiers you attach to individual fighters in Roll Anime to Fight, and they shift how each unit performs across Damage, HP, Speed, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, and Gold earnings. A single Trait can hand out big buffs while also applying a drawback, so the effect on your team depends on which fighter gets which Trait.

Quick answer: Roll Traits at the Trait Machine using Trait Shards, then put Viking or Cursed on your main DPS units. Those two carry the strongest Damage, HP, and Critical stats, and they also have the lowest roll chances at 0.02% each.

Every Trait has its own roll chance, and the strongest ones sit at the bottom of the odds. Rolling a specific Trait comes down to RNG, and the same Trait can land on the same unit more than once across separate rolls.

Which Traits to put on which units

Match the Trait to the job the fighter does. Viking and Cursed are the top picks for damage carries because they stack the highest Damage, HP, Critical Chance, and Critical Damage boosts, with a small Speed penalty that most DPS units can absorb. Cursed also gives the single biggest Damage buff in the game at +400% DMG.

Ghost and Cloner are the only two Traits with a special passive rather than pure stat lines. Ghost brings a unit back once after it dies at 80% of its stats, which suits a high-HP boss-killer you want to survive a wipe. Cloner deploys a second copy of the fighter with matching stats, effectively doubling that unit’s presence on the grid.

If you want extra Gold income, Entrepreneur and Cursed both add +65% Gold, while Royal offers a lighter +25% Gold alongside modest Damage and HP. The Rush and Swift Traits only reduce Speed with no offsetting buff, so avoid them on units you care about.

How to roll Traits at the Trait Machine

The Trait Machine sits on the side of the map, right next to the Evolution Machine. Each reroll costs one Trait Shard, and you spend those shards to assign a fresh Trait to a chosen fighter.

Walk over to the Trait Machine on the map and hold the E key to open its menu.
Click the “+” button and select the unit you want from your inventory.
Press the purple Roll button to give that unit a new Trait. Each press consumes one Trait Shard and replaces the current result, since a unit can only hold one Trait at a time.

You can keep rolling on the same fighter to chase a better result, and repeats of the same Trait are possible. The new Trait applies the moment the roll finishes and its stats appear on that unit.

How to get Trait Shards

Trait Shards are the only currency the Trait Machine accepts, and you can build them up without spending money. Free methods and paid options both feed into the same pool.

MethodHow it works
Defeat enemy wavesKilling enemies during waves drops shards over time.
Season PassLeveling the Season Pass and claiming tier rewards grants shards.
Redeem codesActive codes often include Trait Shards among their rewards.
Bundles and Trait Shard packsPremium purchases made with Robux. Trait Shard Pack 4 is the largest at 100 shards for 1,749 Robux.

Because the best Traits are so rare, save your shards for the fighters you actually keep on your wave team instead of rerolling every early pull. You can jump into the experience directly on the official Roblox game page if you need to check in-game before spending.

Trait rules to remember

A fighter can only carry one Trait at a time, so every fresh roll overwrites whatever was there before. That makes rerolling a gamble when you already have something usable equipped. Cursed delivers the highest Damage buff, Viking pairs the highest HP boost with strong Critical stats, and the two lowest-chance Traits are the ones worth committing your rarest shards toward.
