Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Get Parks Floating Festival Plastic Scrap

The Parks Floating Festival drops a special island into Disney Dreamlight Valley, and one of its tasks stops a lot of players cold. It asks for Plastic Scrap, gives no map marker, and does not tell you that the scrap sitting in your inventory from Eternity Isle is the wrong item entirely.

Quick answer: Travel to the Parks Floating Festival island and pick up Plastic Scrap lying loose on the ground. It spawns at random spots across the island, there are no fixed locations, and it cannot be obtained anywhere else in the game.

Where Parks Floating Festival Plastic Scrap spawns

The event scrap is a ground pickup. It sits out in the open on the festival island, with no fishing, digging, mining, or tool upgrade required. Walk up to a piece, interact with it, and it goes straight into your inventory.

There is no pattern to where it lands. The game scatters it around the island at random, so no location list will help you here. The only reliable method is to cover ground and keep your camera low enough to spot the pieces against the scenery.

Pieces keep spawning for the entire run of the event, so you are not racing a one-time supply. If the island looks empty, leave and come back later and fresh scrap will have appeared.

How to collect it quickly

Head to the Parks Floating Festival island. This is the only place the event scrap exists, so there is no point searching the Valley, the Vale, or Eternity Isle for it.
Sweep the island in loops rather than wandering. Pick an edge, follow it around the outside, then work inward through the middle so you do not re-cover the same ground twice.
Check behind decorations, stalls, and terrain features. Random spawns land under and beside props as often as they land in open paths, and those are the pieces most people walk past.
Leave the island and return once you have cleared what you can see. Reloading the area refreshes what has spawned, which is faster than standing around waiting.

Event scrap vs. Eternity Isle Plastic Scrap

This is the part that trips people up. Disney Dreamlight Valley has two Plastic Scraps, and they look identical. The event version is formally named Parks Floating Festival Plastic Scrap and is a completely separate item from the one you farm on Eternity Isle with the A Rift in Time DLC. Stockpiling one does nothing for the other.

If a festival task still shows zero progress after you have collected plenty of scrap, that mismatch is almost always the reason. Open your inventory and read the item name in full. Anything that does not carry the Parks Floating Festival label belongs to Eternity Isle and will not count.

How to confirm the scrap is registering

Each pickup adds to the event item’s stack in your inventory, and the matching festival task counter ticks up as you go. Watch that counter after your first two or three pickups. If it moves, you are collecting the correct item and the rest is just legwork.

Two things stop it from moving. Either you are picking up the Eternity Isle material instead of the event one, or you are searching off the festival island, where the event version simply does not spawn.

Note: because the event material disappears with the event, spend it on festival tasks rather than saving it. Leftover Eternity Isle Plastic Scrap is the one worth hoarding, since it feeds permanent recipes like the Adirondack Chair, the speckled paths, wall shelves, and trolley tracks.

None of the Floating Festival tasks spell out where their materials come from, and Plastic Scrap is the clearest example of that. There is no trick to it and no hidden node to unlock. Get on the island, walk it end to end, and grab everything blue on the ground.
