Fisch: How to Unrestrict the Stellarwave Melody Rod

Complete the Final Convergence quest by catching a Sparkling Aurora Isonade, lighting five telescopes, and landing 12 cosmic-mutation fish.

Complete the Final Convergence quest by catching a Sparkling Aurora Isonade, lighting five telescopes, and landing 12 cosmic-mutation fish.

The Stellarwave Melody rod starts life restricted, which caps what it can do until you clear one final quest. That quest is called Final Convergence, and finishing it swaps the locked rod for the full version with infinite weight and a zodiac-matching fishing mechanic. The work splits into three parts, and each one has to be done exactly as described before the reward triggers.

Quick answer: Catch one Sparkling Aurora Isonade, activate all five telescopes, then catch the 12 listed fish with a cosmic mutation (Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora) on each. Return to the quest NPC to receive the unrestricted rod.

Final Convergence requirements

Three objectives make up the quest. You can chip away at them in any order, but all three must be complete at the same time when you turn in.

ObjectiveWhat it needs
Sparkling Aurora IsonadeOne catch with the correct fish and mutation combo
Astral AnomaliesAll five telescopes switched on
Cosmic Mutation Fish12 specific fish, each carrying one cosmic mutation

Catch the Sparkling Aurora Isonade

Fish inside a whirlpool while the Rainbow event is active. Use a Truffle Worm for bait. A plain Isonade will not count, so keep casting under these conditions until the catch comes up as the Sparkling Aurora version.
Check the mutation and rarity before you move on. If the fish is missing the Sparkling Aurora properties, discard it and keep fishing rather than turning in a normal one.

Activate all five telescopes (Astral Anomalies)

Craft the required lens for the telescope events. This is the piece that lets you spawn each anomaly.
Charge the batteries needed to power the telescopes. Without a charge, a telescope will not switch on.
Find each telescope and turn on all five. Missing even one blocks this part of the quest, so track which ones you have already lit as you move between areas.

Catch 12 fish with a cosmic mutation

This is the longest part. You need each of the 12 fish below, and every single catch has to carry at least one cosmic mutation. The qualifying mutations are Nova, Umbra, Celestial, and Aurora. Only one is required per fish, so a Lionfish with Nova is fine and you do not need all four on the same catch.

Required fishMutation needed (any one)
Boreal Mana WarNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Goliath SifferNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Shimmering SilversideNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
LionfishNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
ScorpionfishNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
FourhornNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Starlet SeahorseNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
King CrabNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Frigid AnglerNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Broken ArrowNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Bull SharkNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Largemouth BassNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora

Check every catch before assuming it counts. A Lionfish without one of the four cosmic mutations does nothing for the quest, and you will have to catch another. Pushing your Luck and mutation rates higher is the main way to cut down on wasted catches. A common approach for these is the Cerulean Fang rod with Starlight worms, using a harpoon and crab cage for the free-roaming and shelled targets, since Nova tends to be the easiest cosmic mutation to force.

Turn in and confirm the unlock

With the Isonade caught, all five telescopes lit, and every cosmic fish in hand, return to the quest NPC and turn everything in. The quest advances on its own and a completion screen appears. Once you leave that screen, the rod becomes the unrestricted Stellarwave Melody. If the turn-in does nothing, the usual causes are a telescope that switched off, a fish that lacks a cosmic mutation, or an Isonade that was not the Sparkling Aurora variant.

Unrestricted Stellarwave Melody stats

Removing the restriction upgrades the rod’s numbers and gives it an infinite weight ceiling. Here is what the full version carries.

How the zodiac fishing mechanic works

The rod’s defining feature is a constellation minigame. When you fish, 12 zodiac symbols appear around the rod and the game shows an order to click them in, starting with one like Aries. Each correct click adds progress, and completing the full sequence adds a large chunk at once.

Progress on the 12 symbols carries over between catches, so you keep building it as you fish. Once you learn the pattern and keep hitting the symbols in order, the catch speed ramps up sharply, to the point where fish come in almost instantly.

Once the rod is unrestricted, those two large mutation multipliers and the zodiac progress system make it a strong pick for fast catching, and the infinite weight ceiling means no fish is too heavy for it. Take your time on the cosmic fish list, keep your Luck stacked, and the rest of Final Convergence falls into place quickly.
