Fisch Guide: All 5 Telescope Lenses

Craft four Lenses with Astronomer Vega, then collect six Broken Stars for the Stellar Lens.

Craft four Lenses with Astronomer Vega, then collect six Broken Stars for the Stellar Lens.

Fisch’s Telescope does nothing until a Lens is locked into place. Five Lenses exist right now, and they are not interchangeable. Deep, Seasonal, Experimental, and Moonlit come from Astronomer Vega. The Stellar Lens is the reward for finishing Brayden’s Broken Star investigation in Boreal Pines.

Quick answer: Bring Vega one Exotic glass, one mutated catch, and one resin or diamond for each of the four crafted Lenses. Then start Brayden’s quest at GPS (21628, 141, 4483) and pick up all six Broken Stars for the Stellar Lens.

Craft Telescope Lenses with Astronomer Vega

Vega works from a fixed three-item recipe. Four Lenses follow that pattern. The glass is always Exotic. The fish must carry the matching mutation. The third piece is a Mushgrove resin or the Rotting Glass Diamond from Overgrowth Caves.

LensHand Vega these three items
Deep Lens1 Hardened Glass, 1 Abyssal Comb Jelly, 1 Abyssal Resin
Seasonal Lens1 Seasonal Glass, 1 Seasonal Everturn Sturgeon, 1 Rotting Glass Diamond
Experimental Lens1 Quartz Glass, 1 Chaotic Golden Trout, 1 Fallen Resin
Moonlit Lens1 Frozen Glass, 1 Aurora Boreal Man O’ War, 1 Frozen Resin

Vega crafts the Lens as soon as every piece is in your inventory. If the trade will not start, the fish is missing its mutation or you brought a plain resin instead of the named variant.

Resin in Mushgrove Swamp

Three recipes pull resin from the same swamp. Abyssal Resin and Frozen Resin are both Secret. Fallen Resin is the Experimental Lens piece. Do not lean on the Fallen Rod for that last one. Run it through the Shady Appraiser instead.

Glass in Astral Caverns

Each glass sits in a different Astral Cavern, and Magnet bait is the consistent way to pull the Exotic shard.

GlassWhere it drops
Hardened Glass (Exotic)Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern under the main Zenith Pool at GPS (-13774, -11179, 173). Fish with Magnet.
Seasonal Glass (Exotic)Everturn Forest Astral Cave. Fish the center of Everturn Forest Falls at GPS (2466, 140, -2618) to enter, then use Magnet.
Quartz Glass (Exotic)Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern on Northern Expedition Island at GPS (20047, 610, 5857). Magnet works in any weather.
Frozen Glass (Exotic)Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern at the Astral Observatory on Snowcap Island. Magnet, and only at night.

Required fish and the Rotting Glass Diamond

The Deep Lens fish is an Abyssal Comb Jelly, a Mythical catch in the same Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern as Hardened Glass. Equip the Abyssal Specter Rod or the Rod of Depths when you need the Abyssal mutation.

The Seasonal Lens accepts any Seasonal Everturn Sturgeon. Fish Everturn Forest at night with the Seasonal Rod so the mutation lands. Each variant also wants its own bait, weather, and season.

SturgeonBaitWhen it bites
Floraseer Sturgeon (Mythical)Phantom LeechClear Spring nights
Glaciaseer Sturgeon (Mythical)Golden Shrimp BaitRainy Winter nights
Solarseer Sturgeon (Mythical)Super FlakesClear Summer nights
Umbraleaf Sturgeon (Mythical)Night ShrimpClear or rainy Autumn nights

The Rotting Glass Diamond is the third Seasonal piece. The base Glass Diamond is Mythical in Overgrowth Caves. Put on the Splitbranch Twig so the Rotting mutation applies.

The Experimental Lens needs a Chaotic Golden Trout. The Golden Trout is Rare in the Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern. The Duskwire Rod is what applies Chaotic.

The Moonlit Lens fish is an Aurora Boreal Man O’ War, a Mythical catch in Boreal Hollow. Enter from Boreal Island through the cave at GPS (21385, 249, 3816). Use Minnow at night during rainy Winter. The Arctic Rod handles Frozen on the glass side. The Aurora Rod handles Aurora on the Man O’ War.

Stellar Lens Broken Star locations

The Stellar Lens cannot be crafted. Brayden only hands it over after you recover six Broken Stars scattered around the map.

Cross the water to Boreal Pines. Brayden’s cabin sits at GPS (21628, 141, 4483) along the right side of the island.

Go inside the log cabin with the blue roof and speak to Brayden. That starts Anomaly Investigation: Brayden’s Star Projector.

The six stars sit on high ledges and island landmarks. A glider makes the volcano wall and lighthouse faster, but the pickup itself is just walking into the glow.

Broken StarLandmark
Terrapin Island (124, 200, 1978)Sandy cliff ledge to the right, above the green-suited cultist
Roslit Bay Volcano (-2001, 190, 389)Steep outer volcano wall, then the ocean-facing rock ledge around the left corner
Mushgrove Swamp (2519, 156, -921)Left shoreline past the giant mushrooms, then the high rock near the wooden tower
Ancient Isle (6142, 391, 657)Upper waterfall, left past the green tent, behind a tree

Moosewood is the harbor hub stop. Land there first, then climb the lighthouse for the star on the top balcony.

Snowcap’s star sits at the base of the large central icicle beside a tree. From the dock you can see the elevated ice formation you need to climb.

Ancient Isle is a glide onto the tropical cliffs. Head for the upper waterfall, pass the green tent on your left, and grab the star behind the tree.

Terrapin Island is a water approach. Sail in, find the green-suited cultist, then jump the sandy cliff ledge above and to the right.

Roslit Bay starts at the hot spring pools. Climb the steep outer volcano wall to the ocean ledge, then wrap left for the star. The bay is busy ground, so expect other players in the open on the way up.

Open the Quest Book and confirm it reads 6/6 Broken Stars.
Return to Brayden’s cabin in Boreal Pines and turn the investigation in. The Stellar Lens is the quest reward.

Telescope Lens effects and how to activate them

Talk to the Astronomer to slot a Lens onto the Telescope. The matching Astral Anomaly is what actually pays out the bonus, and it hits the whole server.

LensAstral AnomalyBonus
Stellar LensCelestial Congregation+25% Luck
Deep LensAbyssal Alignment+25% Catch Weight
Seasonal LensEvershifting Eclipse+25% XP
Experimental LensMeteoric Outburst4–6 items per meteor instead of 1, plus better Gem odds
Moonlit LensLunar Eclipse5% chance for Aurora, Lunar, Celestial, and Nova Mutations

Anomalies fire at night only. One Anomaly can run at a time. If you try to start one during the day, nothing happens. Swap Lenses at the Astronomer when you want a different bonus.

Once all five Lenses are in your inventory, keep them on rotation instead of parking on a single bonus. Weight, XP, gems, mutations, and luck each answer a different grind, and the Telescope will only run one of them after dark.
