Mythic Sprites sit at the very top of the rarity ladder in Fortnite Override, above Legendary, which is why they almost never fall into your lap during a normal match. Every Mythic can come from Chests and Cheat Codes, and the only outlier is the Crown Sprite, which is tied to winning, trading, or hunting other players. Because the drop rates are so low, the reliable path is to stack as many high-tier chances as possible per match and to always be ready to extract the moment one appears.
Quick answer: Use a Cheat Code Locator to spawn Legendary Cheat Codes for the best natural odds, or trade for the Mythic directly with another player. Keep a spare Portable Extractor equipped so you can secure the Sprite before you lose it.

Where Mythic Sprites actually drop
Two loot sources can produce a Mythic Sprite: Cheat Codes and Chests. Cheat Codes are the stronger of the two by a wide margin. Standard Chests and Rare Chests can still drop a Mythic, but their odds are the lowest of any source, so they should be treated as bonus rolls rather than your main plan.
Finding one is only half the job. A Mythic Sprite is not added to your collection until you successfully extract it, so carrying an unextracted Mythic around for the rest of the match risks losing it entirely. Save a Portable Extractor specifically for these moments, because you may not see the same Sprite again.

Add to Google Preferences →Spawn Legendary Cheat Codes with the Cheat Code Locator
Legendary Cheat Codes give the best natural chance at a Mythic Sprite, but they almost never appear on their own. The Cheat Code Locator is the tool that forces one to spawn. You can buy Locators daily from Sprite Dust Service Stations, the same vendors that sell Portable Extractors, and you can grab four extras using the Lobby Hack Codes FindItChat and SurviveTheNight.

A Legendary result is still uncommon, but it carries far better Mythic odds than a Rare or Epic Cheat Code. The trade-off is that Legendary Cheat Codes require more inputs to unlock, so plan for the extra time before you commit.
Best locations to farm Cheat Codes
Volume wins with Mythic hunting, so land where Cheat Codes cluster densely. When you are choosing between naturally spawning codes, prioritize Epic (Purple) ones, since they offer the highest Mythic chance short of a Legendary. Do not skip Rare Cheat Codes either; their odds are very low, but they can still produce a Mythic.
| Location | Possible Cheat Code spawns |
|---|---|
| Heatwave Harbor | 75 |
| Cluster Coast | 67 |
| Shaken Sanctuary | 42 |
| The Battlewoods | 36 |
| Building east of Blinky Island (Red Pac-Man Ghost) | 34 (+2 more to the south) |
| Chopped Shop | 33 |
| Stone Sanctum | 32 |

Chopped Shop, Stone Sanctum, and The Battlewoods work well as follow-up stops once your landing spot runs dry. If a match ends without a Mythic, queue again and run the same chest-heavy route.

Trade with other players for a guaranteed Mythic
Trading is the most dependable way to add a specific Mythic to your collection. You can drop a Sprite for another player, who then extracts it to make it their own. If you have a friend who already owns a Mythic Sprite you are missing, arrange a swap and skip the farming entirely.
This is also one of the two ways to obtain the Crown Sprite, with winning a game being the alternative. Once you have extracted a Sprite at least once, you can always summon it back later using Sprite Dust, so an extracted Mythic is never truly lost.

Use Power Hours to boost Mythic drop rates
Power Hours run every Saturday from 2 PM to 4 PM ET and again from 9 PM to 11 PM ET. Each window boosts the spawn rate of the specific Sprite it is themed around. Not every Power Hour targets a Mythic, but Mythic-themed windows do happen, and a dedicated Mythic Hour tends to arrive later in a season. No official date for the next Mythic-focused window is currently confirmed.
When a newly released Mythic gets its own themed hour, that is the best time to farm it. Power Hours also improve your chances at Special variants of Mythic Sprites, which makes them worth playing across the board even outside a dedicated Mythic window.
Whichever route you take, the finishing move is the same. The instant a Mythic appears, extract it before anyone can knock you down, and keep a fresh Portable Extractor in reserve so you are never caught without one.
