Palworld: How Nitemary’s Soul Collector Boosts Pal Soul Drops

Nitemary's partner skill works from the party without being summoned, and it stacks with other Dark drop boosters.

Nitemary’s partner skill works from the party without being summoned, and it stacks with other Dark drop boosters.

Nitemary is a Dark-element Pal in Palworld whose partner skill, Soul Collector, raises the number of Pal Souls that defeated enemies leave behind. The important part is that the boost runs passively. You do not have to summon Nitemary into combat for it to work, which turns it into one of the most efficient soul-farming Pals in the game.

Quick answer: Keep Nitemary anywhere in your six-slot active party. With Soul Collector at Lv. 5, every defeated Pal drops +200% more Pal Souls, so an enemy that normally drops 1 Small Pal Soul will instead drop 3.

Soul Collector works from the party, not from combat

The skill description reads “While fighting together, Pals drop +200% more Pal Souls when defeated. (Does not stack).” The phrasing suggests Nitemary needs to be actively out on the field, but that is not how it behaves. As long as Nitemary sits in your party lineup, the bonus applies to kills you make yourself or with any other summoned Pal.

This puts Soul Collector in the same category as element-based drop boosters like Elphidran’s Amicable Holy Dragon, which reads “While in party, Dark Pals drop +80% more items when defeated. (Does not stack).” Both take effect from party presence alone, so you can carry a dedicated combat Pal while Nitemary quietly multiplies your soul haul.

Soul Collector boost by skill level

The percentage grows as you rank up the partner skill using Starfruits or by condensing duplicate Nitemary. The maximum is +200% at Lv. 5, which triples the base soul count.

Stacking Nitemary with other drop boosters

Soul Collector adds together with other distinct drop-boosting Pals and items. Because Pal Souls come mostly from Dark Pals, the natural pairings are Elphidran and Enchanted Sword, which each add +80% to Dark item drops at Lv. 5. The bonuses combine additively on top of Nitemary’s +200%.

Against an enemy that normally drops a single Small Pal Soul, the totals work out like this.

Party setupTotal drop rateSouls from a 1-soul kill
No boosters100%1
Nitemary only300%3
Nitemary + 1 booster380%4
Nitemary + 2 boosters460%5

World or server drop-rate settings apply as their own separate multiplier on top of all of this. With Nitemary, two boosters, and a x3 drop setting active, a single-soul kill can reach 7 souls.

Fractional drops always round up

The rate is applied to the base drop, then the result is rounded up to the next whole item. That is why 380% of one soul yields 4 rather than 3, and 460% yields 5. The rounding also explains results on Pals with a variable base drop.

Wistella, for example, drops 3 to 5 Pal Souls on its own. Multiplying that range by the boosted rate and rounding up produces the higher soul counts you see in practice, confirming the math holds across different base drops.

What does not stack

Two limits keep the boost from scaling infinitely. Both come down to the “(Does not stack)” clause on the skill and item descriptions.

  • Copies of the same booster do not stack. Carrying two Nitemary gives the same +200% as one, even when they are different star levels. A 0-star and a 1-star Enchanted Sword together still count as a single +80%.
  • Only distinct boosters combine. Nitemary, Elphidran, and Enchanted Sword are three different sources, so their bonuses add up. Adding a second identical booster of any of them contributes nothing extra.

For the fastest soul farming, run Nitemary alongside one Elphidran and one Enchanted Sword, level each partner skill to Lv. 5, and hunt Dark Pals that already drop multiple souls. That combination pushes the drop rate to 460% before any world multiplier is applied, and the round-up rule quietly turns every fractional result in your favor.
