Pearl is a 5-star Ice character on the Path of Elation, joining Honkai Star Rail in version 4.6. She is one of the Ten Stonehearts of the IPC and the current CEO of Planarcadia, and in combat she works as a defense-scaling sustain who keeps Elation teams alive while pushing their damage. She heals through her attacks, blocks incoming hits with a stacking resource, and advances an ally’s turn based on how many Elation units share the field.
Quick answer: Pearl scales entirely off DEF, so build DEF% on her Sphere and Rope, keep Speed high, and pair her with Elation carries like Silver Wolf LV.999, Evanescia, or Aventurine Waveflair to unlock her full turn-advance and buff value.

How Pearl’s kit works
Pearl’s whole kit runs on DEF. Her attacks deal Ice damage and heal at the same time, her sustain comes from a Repellency shield tied to a resource called “Certified Banger,” and her Ultimate hands out an action advance that grows stronger the more Elation allies you field. The core loop is heal the team, stack the shield, then use the Ultimate to push a carry’s turn and feed them resources.
Basic Attacks
- Brushstroke: Trace the Severed Stream deals Ice damage equal to 90% of Pearl’s DEF to a single enemy.
- Brushstroke: Render the Great Wave deals 100% of DEF as Ice damage to all enemies, heals every ally for 8.0% of DEF plus 160, and heals the lowest-HP ally again for the same amount.
- Brushstroke: Imagenate the Starry Night matches the Great Wave version but, while holding “Certified Banger,” adds Ice Elation damage equal to 15% of DEF against the enemies hit.
Skill, Ultimate, and Talent
Skill: Gains 15 points of “Certified Banger,” heals all allies for 12.0% of DEF plus 240, and heals the lowest-HP ally again for the same amount.
Ultimate: Gains 20 points of “Certified Banger” and applies “Deep Learning” to one other ally, marking them the “Aesthetic Archetype.” That ally’s action is advanced by 10%/15%/30% when the team has 1/2/3 or more Elation characters. With 4 or more Elation units, the marked ally instead gains an extra turn, starting it with 30 “Certified Banger” and 60 Punchline that clear at the turn’s end. While Deep Learning is active, Pearl’s basic attack upgrades to Render the Great Wave, or to Imagenate the Starry Night if the marked ally is an Elation character, and her damage adds 60% Ice Elation damage calculated from the marked ally’s stats. Deep Learning holds 3 charges, spending 1 per enhanced basic attack, and ends when no charge remains.
Talent: Pearl converts “Certified Banger” into Repellency, with each point worth 200 Repellency. When an ally takes damage, she spends Repellency to block 60% of it. The resource lasts indefinitely and caps at 50, and any ally below 50% HP takes 30% less damage.
Technique: Grants “Aesthetic Archetype,” which transfers to whoever you switch to. At the start of the next battle she gains 20 “Certified Banger” and applies Deep Learning (2 charges) to the ally holding the mark.
Elation Skill: With 1/2/3/4 or more Elation characters on the team, all allies deal bonus Elation damage of their own type equal to 10.0%/15.0%/20.0%/40.0% after their next attack.
Pearl traces and stat bonuses
Her three major traces reward stacking DEF and consistently topping off “Certified Banger,” and one of them refunds a large chunk of Energy in full Elation lineups.

Pearl Eidolons
Pearl’s Eidolons lean hard into full Elation teams. E1 and E2 boost the whole squad’s Elation output, E4 and E6 harden her shield and personal damage, and E3 and E5 are the standard ability level increases.

Colors For Tomorrow signature Light Cone
Pearl’s signature Light Cone, Colors For Tomorrow, is a 5-star Elation cone that pushes her DEF even higher and turns her Elation Skill into a team-wide vulnerability debuff. Using the Elation Skill on all allies heals the party and makes enemies take more damage, and every additional Elation teammate stacks that vulnerability further.
