Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — How to Unlock the Baitfish Trophy

Pull a chain of 20 Petrified behind Sophia in Chapter 13's final trial to pop this Very Rare trophy.

Pull a chain of 20 Petrified behind Sophia in Chapter 13’s final trial to pop this Very Rare trophy.

Baitfish is one of the trickier combat trophies in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, but it comes down to a single, repeatable action. You need to lure 20 Petrified enemies so they chase Sophia at the same time, forming one long train behind her. The cleanest place to do this is the last chapter of the game, and Chapter Select makes it easy to farm after the credits.

Quick answer: Load Chapter XIII (As One), Sub-chapter 4 (One last trial), then run laps around the opening area until 20 Petrified are trailing you at once. The “Baitfish” notification appears the moment the 20th enemy joins the chase.

What Baitfish requires

The trophy has one condition: lure 20 Petrified at the same time. The Petrified are the ghostly, stone-cursed enemies that pursue Sophia on sight. Because the count must be simultaneous, you cannot build it up across separate encounters. All 20 have to be actively following you in a single chain before it triggers.

This is not a story-locked trophy, so a mistake costs you nothing. If you die or lose the trail, simply reload the sub-chapter and start again.

How to unlock Baitfish in Chapter 13

Open the pause menu and go to Chapter Selection. Pick Chapter XIII – As One, then choose the sub-chapter labeled “4 – One last trial.” The level loads with the objective “Follow the beam,” which shifts to “Unlock the exit despite the Petrified.”
Head into the opening area, a set of misty ruins full of Petrified. Do not rush toward the exit. Instead, run past the enemies so they notice Sophia and begin chasing her one after another.

Keep circling the starting area in wide loops. Stay just ahead of the crowd so the enemies already chasing you stick to your trail while new ones join from the edges. The goal is to keep every Petrified locked onto Sophia without letting any of them peel off.
Once the chain reaches 20 Petrified pursuing you at the same time, the trophy pops. From starting the sub-chapter, this usually takes under a minute of continuous running.

How to confirm it worked

You will know the instant it registers: the “Baitfish” trophy notification appears on screen with a “Trophy earned!” banner while the crowd is still chasing you. There is no need to reach the exit or finish the trial afterward. Once the pop shows, you can quit out to the menu.

Why it might not trigger

If the count stalls below 20, the usual cause is enemies losing interest and breaking off the chase. Keep your loops tight enough that the whole group stays aggroed on Sophia, and avoid running so far ahead that the back of the line gives up. Gather every Petrified in the area into the same train before you expect the pop.

Note: This trophy is Very Rare on PlayStation, but the difficulty is in the setup rather than execution. Because it is fully farmable through Chapter Select, you can attempt it as many times as you like once you have reached Chapter 13, either during the story or after finishing it.
