Quick answer: Soul has four core stats: Health, Sha-Chi, Attack and Guard Break. Memory Flowers permanently boost Health, Sha-Chi Amber boosts Sha-Chi, and Blackstone boosts Attack and Guard Break, with accessories and weapon upgrades adding more.

Soul’s core stats

Phantom Blade Zero builds Soul around four core stats: Health, Sha-Chi, Attack and Guard Break. They grow through collectibles, accessories and weapon upgrades.

Health measures Soul’s HP. Collecting Memory Flower sets permanently boosts it, while Jewel’s Knot adds HP only while equipped. Learn more about how to increase max HP.

Sha-Chi fuels Sha-Chi Combos and Phantom Edges. Each Sha-Chi Amber permanently expands its maximum, and equipping the Resonance Talisman increases it as well.

Attack measures the force of Soul’s hits, while Guard Break measures how fast those hits wear down an enemy’s guard. Blackstone permanently increases both stats.

Where to see your stat bonuses

Choose Train Abilities at any bell to open the Train Abilities screen, where Soul’s permanent bonuses appear. Blackstone, Sha-Chi Amber and the Complete Memory Flower are the first icons in its three rows.

Select a row’s first icon to bring up its panel. There, you’ll find the Obtained count and the bonus it currently provides.

In our run, the Blackstone panel read “Obtained: 2” and “Attack Power and Guard Break +20%”.

How to raise Health

Interact with the blue Memory Flowers found throughout the world. Each set’s card gives your petal total and the HP increase it grants, such as +5% or +10%.

Completing a large set grants one Complete Memory Flower, which provides 10% Health.

Jewel’s Knot+1 reads “Increases HP by 25%.”

Medicines refill HP but do not raise the maximum; healing is covered in how to heal. The Healing Gourd reads “Restores 45% HP. Restores an additional 10% HP when HP is below 20%.”

How to raise Attack and Guard Break

Four Blackstone Shards form one Blackstone, described as “A fragment that permanently increases 10% Attack and Guard Break”.

When you upgrade weapons, the numbers on that weapon’s own card go up. In our run, Jagged Steel went from 240 Damage and 124 Status Effects at level 1 to 264 Damage and 136 Status Effects at level 2.

Each of the three lists “Prerequisite skill required” and “Required Cycles: 1”. In our run, all three showed “TRAINING REQUIREMENTS NOT MET” and a total increase of 0%.

Weapon and Phantom Edge stats

A main weapon or Phantom Edge card places two values beneath its name. Usually, those figures show Damage alongside a second stat.

Weapons designed to break guards list Guard Break next to Damage. At level 14, Sanguine Twin has Damage 460 and Guard Break 230.

Weapons that fill an ailment gauge use Status Effects as the second stat, and that gauge drives status effects. Jagged Steel lists Damage 240 and Status Effects 124, while Fire Meteor, a Martial Phantom Edge, lists Damage 380 and Status Effects 309.
