The Tarnished Pack drops a full set of fresh gear into a game most players thought they had already picked clean. Two new starting classes, four armor sets, three extra weapons, and three cosmetic skins for Torrent are now scattered across the Lands Between, from Weeping Peninsula all the way up to Altus Plateau. Here is exactly where each one lives and what you need to grab it.
Quick answer: Own the Tarnished Pack on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC (or play the Switch 2 Tarnished Edition), update the game to version 1.17, then collect the items across Limgrave, Liurnia of the Lakes, Caelid, Leyndell, and Altus Plateau. Two sets come from starting classes, two drop from NPC invaders, and the rest are bought or found in the open world.

What you need before anything drops in
Every new item is tied to the same content bundle. On Nintendo Switch 2, the Tarnished Edition already includes it alongside the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree. On every other platform, you have to buy the Tarnished Pack separately and make sure your install is on patch 1.17 or higher, otherwise the items will not appear in the world.
The pack costs €4.99, £3.99, or $4.99 depending on your region, and it applies to any existing save. You can pick it up on your platform’s store or through the official listing.

The Heavy Knight and the Idus Knight are both new picks on the character creation screen. Choose one and you start with its full kit. If you are on an existing character, you can still collect every piece from merchants and a single world pickup.
Heavy Knight (Steel Set)
The Heavy Knight is a bulky melee build starting at level 10, leaning on 17 Endurance, 15 Strength, and a curved greatsword. Its armor comes from the Isolated Merchant in the Weeping Peninsula, and its weapon, the Hefty Scimitar, is sold by the Nomadic Merchant just north of Fort Haight in eastern Limgrave.

Idus Knight (Silver Grooved Set)
The Idus Knight is a lighter, dexterity-focused class starting at level 7 with 15 Dexterity and 13 Strength. It wields the Idus Sword, a light greatsword, and pairs it with the Silver Grooved gear. The armor and shield are sold by the Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church in Liurnia of the Lakes. The Idus Sword itself sits on a corpse near two Wraiths in the swamp northwest of the Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace, by a tree near some ruins.
| Item | Location | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Steel Armor | Isolated Merchant, Weeping Peninsula | 1,500 Runes |
| Steel Helm / Gauntlets / Greaves | Isolated Merchant, Weeping Peninsula | 1,000 Runes each |
| Hefty Scimitar | Nomadic Merchant north of Fort Haight, Limgrave | 2,400 Runes |
| Silver Grooved Shield | Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church, Liurnia | 2,000 Runes |
| Silver Grooved Armor | Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church, Liurnia | 1,500 Runes |
| Silver Grooved Helm / Gauntlets / Greaves | Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church, Liurnia | 1,000 Runes each |
| Idus Sword | Corpse near Wraiths, northwest of Liurnia Lake Shore | Free pickup |

Three extra weapons you can grab or buy
Beyond the class gear, three standalone weapons were added to the world. The Reverse-Bladed Sword is available right away from a familiar vendor, while the other two require a trip into Caelid.
The Reverse-Bladed Sword is a Backhand Blade sold by the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold for 1,000 Runes, straight from their regular stock. No bell bearing or ashes are needed, which means you can own a backhand blade long before entering Shadow of the Erdtree.
The Reed Great Katana is the first Great Katana available in the Lands Between rather than the Realm of Shadow, and it comes with the Overhead Stance skill. Head to the Fort Faroth Site of Grace in Caelid and go north to the tall, pale mound of decaying matter. Use Torrent’s double jump to climb it, and the weapon is on a corpse near the top.
The Ritual Thrusting Shield is a thrusting shield with the Shield Strike skill, requiring 13 Strength and 12 Dexterity. From the Deep Siofra Well Site of Grace in Caelid, head west through the ravine to the Caelid Colosseum behind the Great Jar. Open the doors and take the shield from a corpse inside.
| Weapon | Type | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Reverse-Bladed Sword | Backhand Blade | Twin Maiden Husks, Roundtable Hold (1,000 Runes) |
| Reed Great Katana | Great Katana | Pale mound north of Fort Faroth, Caelid |
| Ritual Thrusting Shield | Thrusting shield | Caelid Colosseum, via Deep Siofra Well |

Two armor sets locked behind NPC invaders
The remaining two armor sets do not sit in chests. You earn them by beating new invaders, and one of them is missable, so read the conditions carefully before you push story progress.
Leontiel Set (defeat Knight Leontiel)
First defeat Starscourge Radahn. Return to his arena in Caelid’s Wailing Dunes through the Starscourge Radahn Site of Grace and head north, toward the ruined structures. Knight Leontiel will invade you there. Beat the invader and you receive the full set (Leontiel’s Hat, Armor, Leather Gloves, and Boots) plus Leontiel’s Greatsword, which requires 13 Strength and 26 Dexterity and carries the unique Ash of War: Muleta.

Golden Order Set (defeat The Noble Broken Mask)
Note: This set is missable. It can only be claimed in Leyndell, Royal Capital, before the area becomes the Capital of Ash, which happens once you burn the Erdtree. It also will not trigger if you already cast the spell at the statue before the update.

You know each invasion worked when the enemy dies and the gear lands directly in your inventory. If The Noble Broken Mask never shows up, the usual cause is that you are in the Ashen Capital, you are not standing on the message itself, or you have already cast the spell there before.
All three Torrent skins (Spectral Steed Regalia)
Torrent customization is brand new to Elden Ring. Once you collect your first Spectral Steed Regalia, you can change your mount’s look from any Site of Grace menu. There are three to find, all in early-to-mid regions.
The Tree Sentinel skin is in Stormveil Castle. Defeat Godrick the Grafted, use his Site of Grace, then head into the throne room and take a right to reach the chest holding it. The Carian Silver skin is at Ranni’s Rise in Liurnia of the Lakes. It sits in a new chest behind the desk in the same room as the Site of Grace, reachable by smashing through the desk and books in front of you.
The Funereal Night skin is the only one not in a chest. From the Hermit Merchant’s Shack Site of Grace outside Leyndell, head southeast across Altus Plateau toward a Sword Monument near the cliff edge. The regalia lies on the ground beside a small sword stuck in the earth, tucked behind two birch trees southeast of the monument, so it is easy to walk past.

| Torrent skin | Region | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Tree Sentinel | Limgrave | Chest in Stormveil Castle throne room, after Godrick |
| Carian Silver | Liurnia of the Lakes | Chest behind the desk at Ranni’s Rise |
| Funereal Night | Altus Plateau | Beside a sword near the Sword Monument, southeast of Hermit Merchant’s Shack |
Grab the class gear and open-world weapons whenever you like, but prioritize the Golden Order Set before burning the Erdtree, since that is the one window you cannot reopen. Everything else stays waiting in the world for as long as your save has the pack installed.
