Grow a Chicken Fighter: How to Get the Eclipse Hen

The Secret-rarity fighter only hatches from the Ascension Egg, and here is how to farm enough of them.

The Secret-rarity fighter only hatches from the Ascension Egg, and here is how to farm enough of them.

The Eclipse Hen is a Secret-rarity fighter added to Grow a Chicken Fighter in Update 2, and it sits at the very bottom of the Ascension Egg’s drop table. It carries the Black Sun Cataclysm skill, which darkens the sky and detonates a black sun into a shockwave that deals heavy area damage and knockback. That makes it a strong pick for Pit, Tower, and Arena play, but pulling one takes patience.

Quick answer: Hatch Ascension Eggs to roll the Eclipse Hen at a 1% chance. Ascension Eggs come only from Rebirth Milestones and Arena rank rewards, so grind Rebirths and climb the Arena ladder to stockpile them.

Eclipse Hen hatch odds from the Ascension Egg

There is no button, purchase, or guaranteed path that hands you an Eclipse Hen directly. It shares the Ascension Egg with four other fighters, and it holds the lowest rate in that egg. Expect to open many eggs before one lands.

No Chicken lays the Ascension Egg, so you cannot farm it through egg-laying. You only earn it from two systems, both introduced with the Arena update.

Where Ascension Eggs come from

Rebirth Milestones

Open the Rebirth panel from the right side of the screen, then select Milestones to see the rewards tied to your total Rebirth count. Ascension Eggs are handed out as you reach 10, 20, 35, 75, 100, 175, 225, and 250 Rebirths. The game has no Rebirth cap, so passing 250 keeps unlocking further milestones that award more Ascension Eggs.

Arena ranks

The Arena is the game’s PvP mode, where you send a team of three of your strongest Chickens against other players to win Trophies. Trophies raise your rank, and each rank grants rewards such as Coins, Corn Boost, Hatch Luck, and Eggs. Reaching Master V at 2,200 Trophies gives 1 Ascension Egg, and climbing to the top 1% Grandmaster I rank gives 3 Ascension Eggs along with other prizes.

Fastest way to farm Ascension Eggs

Because these eggs are never laid, the reliable route is to Rebirth quickly and roll through the milestone rewards. Each Rebirth requires clearing a set number of Tower floors and resets your coop, Recycler upgrades, and Coins, but it boosts your Coin and Corn multipliers in return. Incubator upgrades are not reset by a Rebirth, so they carry over.

Perform three Rebirths to unlock the Incubator.
Put a Chicken with a short egg-laying time into the Incubator and keep upgrading the machine.
Collect and hatch the eggs, then sell duplicate Chickens for Coins.
Spend those Coins on coop upgrades and on leveling your deployed Chicken.
Send that Chicken into the Tower to clear the floors required for your next Rebirth.
Trigger the soft reset once the floors are done, then repeat the loop to keep hitting milestones.

Note: Coins from daily missions can fund your upgrades too, which speeds up each cycle.

How to confirm you hatched the Eclipse Hen

When an Ascension Egg opens on the Eclipse Hen, the reveal shows the Secret-rarity fighter and it drops into your collection. From there, you can deploy it and read its Black Sun Cataclysm skill, which summons a dark sun that detonates for a large burst of damage. Because of the 1% rate, plan to stockpile several eggs before a roll lands the Eclipse Hen rather than expecting it from a single hatch.
