Skills are the difference between chipping away at a sea boss for ten minutes and shutting it down in a single window. In Heavyweight Fishing, the martial-arts abilities you equip stun bosses, ignore their attacks, and multiply the damage your rod already does. They are not sold at a shop counter at a fixed price, though, which is where most players get stuck.
Quick answer: Summon skills from the Taiji or Egoless banners using Tickets or Crystals. Pity guarantees a Legendary skill at 30 summons, a Mythical at 120, and a Secret at 1,000.

How to get skills in Heavyweight Fishing
Every skill in the game comes out of the summon system. You spend Tickets or Crystals on one of two banners, and the roll decides what you walk away with. Tickets and Crystals both come from quests, in-game rewards, and redeemable codes, so the practical loop is stockpile currency, then pull.

Note: a handful of skills have been handed out through codes instead of the banners. The BacMinh code granted the Bac Minh Technique, though it no longer works. Codes now overwhelmingly pay out in Tickets, Crystals, and Trait Rerolls, which you funnel back into summons.

The banners run a hard pity counter, so a long dry streak still ends in a guaranteed drop. Budget your Tickets around these numbers rather than pulling five at a time and hoping.

|---|---|
| 30 | Legendary skill |
| 120 | Mythical skill |
| 1,000 | Secret skill |
Boss skills with immunity effects
The most valuable line on any skill card is boss skill immunity. It means the boss cannot land its own abilities on you while yours is active, which turns a fight from a survival test into a damage race. Five skills carry it.
| Skill | Effect |
|---|---|
| Whirlwind Fishing Art | Boss skill immunity, deals your current damage, 12-second stun |
| Shangqing Realm | Boss skill immunity, bypasses boss invincibility, deals current damage, 4-second stun |
| Heaven’s Burden | Boss skill immunity, 10-second stun, +25 HP, current damage per second |
| Vajra Godcast | Boss skill immunity, current damage, 7-second stun, extra 50% damage after 5 seconds |
| Ruinous Sacrifice | Boss skill immunity, +999 rod power for 10 seconds, current damage per second, drains 20 HP per second |
Whirlwind Fishing Art has the longest lockdown at 12 seconds. Shangqing Realm is the specialist pick, because bypassing boss invincibility is the only way to keep hitting during phases where nothing else connects. Ruinous Sacrifice is the gamble of the group. That +999 rod power is enormous, but the 20 HP per second drain will kill you if you fire it at low health or let it run its full duration without a plan.

Stun and damage skills for everyday fishing
The rest of the pool is built around locking a catch in place while your rod does the work. Stun duration matters more than raw numbers here, since a long stun means uninterrupted reeling.
| Skill | Effect |
|---|---|
| Skyfall Stomp | 2-second stun plus damage |
| Taijiquan | 10-second stun plus damage per second |
| Leopard Lock | 10-second stun, 2 damage per second |
| Iron Grip Art | 10-second stun, 1 damage per second |
| Dual Sonic Kick | No stun, deals your current damage per second for 10 seconds |
| Tiger’s Hunt | +30 rod power for 15 seconds, current damage per second |
Skyfall Stomp is the weakest of the group at two seconds and is worth replacing as soon as anything else drops. Leopard Lock and Iron Grip Art are functionally the same skill with different damage ticks, so take whichever you get first. Tiger’s Hunt is the odd one out, trading crowd control for a flat 15-second rod power boost that pairs well with a long reel.

Other skills in the pool
Beyond the abilities above, the banners and Learn Skill menu carry a wider roster covering movement, defense, and burst damage. Phoenix Strike Art sits at the top for boss damage, while One-Strike Heaven Gate is built for finishing heavy catches quickly.

Funding summons with codes
Codes are the fastest free source of Tickets and Crystals, and almost all of them are gated behind an account level. Press the Code button on the left of the screen, type the code into the entry box exactly as written, and hit Redeem. Rewards land on your account instantly if the code is still live.
| Code | Reward and level requirement |
|---|---|
| 33MVisits | 20 Tickets, 50 Crystals, 20 Trait Rerolls (Level 50+) |
| 13KActives | 200 Tickets, 400 Crystals, 1,000 Trait Rerolls (Level 200+) |
| 49KLikes | 5 Tickets, 10 Crystals, 5 Trait Rerolls (Level 20+) |
| Taiji | 500 Gems (Level 500+) |
If a code fails, the cause is almost always one of three things. You are below the level requirement, the capitalization does not match, or the code has already expired. Brand-new codes sometimes need a server refresh, so leave and rejoin to land on an updated build before writing one off.
If you are picking a target to save for, the five boss-immunity skills are the ones that change outcomes. Whirlwind Fishing Art, Shangqing Realm, Heaven’s Burden, and Vajra Godcast give you safe windows to attack in, and Ruinous Sacrifice ends fights outright when you can survive the drain. Everything else is a stopgap until one of those five lands.
