Cursed Fruits are Grand Blue’s version of the Devil Fruit, and they are the single biggest power decision you make in the pirate adventure. Eating one permanently attaches a combat ability set to your character, so the fruit you chase early shapes how the rest of your run plays out. Ten Cursed Fruits have been revealed so far, split across six rarity bands with wildly different pull odds.
Quick answer: Darkness Fruit is the top target at a 0.5% drop chance (Celestial), followed by Flame Fruit at 1.5% (Mythic). Everything else drops far more often and is best treated as a stepping stone.
Grand Blue Cursed Fruits tier list
| Tier | Cursed Fruit | Rarity | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Darkness Fruit | Celestial | 0.5% |
| S | Flame Fruit | Mythic | 1.5% |
| A | Wolf Fruit | Legendary | 5% |
| A | Chop Fruit | Epic | 6% |
| A | Bomb Fruit | Epic | 6% |
| B | Strength Fruit | Rare | 10% |
| B | Drain Fruit | Rare | 10% |
| B | Spike Fruit | Rare | 10% |
| C | Spin Fruit | Uncommon | 25% |
| C | Cannon Fruit | Uncommon | 25% |
The ranking follows rarity band and pull odds, since Grand Blue is still an Early Access build and the PvP and PvE meta has not settled. It reflects the fruit lineup as it stands in late August 2026. Expect movement once balance passes land and more fruits are added.

Add to Google Preferences →S-tier: Darkness Fruit and Flame Fruit
Darkness Fruit sits alone at the top of the rarity chart. It is the only Celestial fruit revealed so far, and its 0.5% drop chance makes it roughly three times harder to pull than the next fruit down. If you are opening chests in bulk, this is the one worth holding out for.
Flame Fruit is the sole Mythic entry at 1.5%. It is still a rare pull, but it is the realistic S-tier prize for most players who are not sinking huge amounts of money into chest bundles. Both fruits carry the same practical advice: do not eat something else first if one of these is your goal.
A-tier and B-tier: the realistic mid-game picks
Wolf Fruit is the only Legendary in the pool at 5%, and it edges out the two Epic fruits purely on scarcity. Chop Fruit and Bomb Fruit share the Epic band at 6% each, which makes them the most likely “good” pull you will actually see from a mid-sized chest bundle.
The Rare band covers Strength Fruit, Drain Fruit, and Spike Fruit, all at 10%. These are solid holdovers rather than long-term keeps. They will carry you through early islands and boss fights while you bank money for more chests, but none of them is worth committing to permanently if you are still hunting a Mythic or Celestial pull.
C-tier: Spin Fruit and Cannon Fruit
Spin Fruit and Cannon Fruit are the Uncommon pair, each at a 25% drop chance. Between them they account for half of all chest results, so expect to see plenty of duplicates. Treat them as filler for your first hours of play or as trade fodder rather than a serious investment.

How to get Cursed Fruits in Grand Blue
Fruit Chests bought with in-game money are the most controllable source. Bundles scale from a single chest at 1,200 money up to a 100-chest pack for 98,000, so buying in volume lowers the per-chest cost considerably when you are chasing the low-percentage fruits.
Chests are not the only route. The table below covers every way a Cursed Fruit reaches your inventory.
| Method | Details |
|---|---|
| Wizards Apprentice quest | Talk to Almighty Calvin in Anchor Town, grab the Rusty Shovel below his platform, dig up the marked objects, then return to claim Calvin’s Treasure. Fastest early route. |
| Fruit Chests | Bought with in-game money; larger bundles hand out more chests per purchase. |
| Fruit Trader NPC | Buy a Cursed Fruit outright once you can reach the trader and afford it. |
| Island exploration | Fruits spawn on trees and plants every hour. Pure RNG, but free. |
If a dig spot on the Wizards Apprentice quest refuses to register, hit it with a Strong Punch first to reset it, then dig again. You know the quest worked when Calvin’s Treasure lands in your inventory and can be opened from there.
Building up money for chests
Reaching a 98,000-money bundle takes sustained grinding, and the Anchor Town Mines are one of the first stops available to a new character. Ore deposits highlight as you approach the rock wall.

Each swing of the pickaxe fills a mining progress bar and returns copper ore and rock. Nodes respawn, so a single wall can be worked repeatedly.

Enough copper unlocks the Copper Bar recipe and clears the First Upgrade objective with Blacksmith Shinezaki, which is the early crafting milestone that pairs with your first fruit.

Chests you find in the world use a simple Open prompt, and the reward drops straight into your inventory.

Before you eat a Cursed Fruit
Eating a Cursed Fruit binds its ability set to your character, and there is no documented way to remove, swap, or reroll it afterwards. Decide which fruit you want before you consume anything.
Note: skill levels are stored per fruit, so switching between fruits you own does not wipe the progress you have already built on each one. Codes exist in Grand Blue, but they hand out small boosts rather than free Cursed Fruits, so do not count on one to skip the grind.
Because the game is still in Early Access and the developers are actively patching it, drop rates and fruit kits can shift. Rarity is the most reliable signal right now, which puts Darkness and Flame at the front of the queue and everything else in the position of a useful placeholder until a better pull arrives.
