NBA 2K27: Every Badge Requirement, Attribute, and Height Threshold

The exact Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Hall of Fame ratings for all 53 badges, plus every height gate.

The exact Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Hall of Fame ratings for all 53 badges, plus every height gate.

Missing a badge tier by a single attribute point is the most expensive mistake you can make in the MyPLAYER Builder, and NBA 2K27 is full of thresholds that sit at awkward numbers. Limitless Range starts at 83 Three-Point Shot, not 82. Rise Up needs only a 70 Vertical for Hall of Fame but a 99 Standing Dunk. Knowing where those lines sit before you spend attribute points is the difference between a build that works and one you rebuild from scratch.

Quick answer: Each of the 53 badges unlocks at a fixed attribute rating for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Hall of Fame. Set your build’s attribute cap at or above the number for the tier you want, and check that your height falls inside the badge’s allowed range — many badges are gated to short or tall builds only.

How badge tiers unlock

There are four visible tiers on every badge: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Hall of Fame. Each one has its own attribute number, and you get the tier automatically once the underlying rating reaches that threshold. Beyond Hall of Fame there’s a Legend tier, but that isn’t unlocked by attributes — it comes from the Synergy system and season progression.

Some badges pull from two attributes, and the connector matters a lot:

  • AND means you must hit both numbers. Post Powerhouse at Gold needs 85 Post Control and 86 Strength. Falling short on either one drops you back a tier.
  • OR means either attribute can carry the badge on its own. Deadeye at Gold works off 92 Mid-Range Shot or 92 Three-Point Shot, so a pure shooter only needs one of them.

The OR badges aren’t always symmetrical, either. Aerial Wizard reaches Hall of Fame at 94 Driving Dunk or 93 Standing Dunk, and Unpluckable can only reach Hall of Fame through Ball Handle at 97 — the Post Control path stops at Gold.

Badge Tokens and the 20 slot limit

Hitting the attribute threshold makes you eligible for a badge. It does not put the badge on your player. Every build starts with 20 badge slots spread across the six disciplines, and all 20 are open from the beginning, but you have to earn Badge Tokens to actually fill them.

Tokens come from six discipline meters that fill based on how you play, plus Team Practice drills, Gatorade workouts, Build Specialization quests, Season rewards, and Crew rewards. You can reassign tokens later, though tokens earned through in-game performance stay locked to the discipline that produced them. Bonus slots and bonus tokens can go anywhere.

So if a badge looks unlocked but won’t equip, it’s almost always one of two things: you don’t have a spare token in that discipline, or your build’s height sits outside the badge’s allowed range.

Height limits for NBA 2K27 badges

Height is checked before attributes, and it cannot be worked around. A 7’0 center will never equip Mini Marksman no matter how high the Three-Point Shot rating goes, and a 6’0 guard is locked out of Wall Up permanently. Lock in your height first, then plan attributes around what’s still available.

Every badge not listed above is open to all heights. Note: Smooth Operator is the one badge whose height cap isn’t consistently reported — it has been listed both as open to all builds and as capped at 6’11”, so tall builds should confirm it in the Builder before committing points to Mid-Range Shot for it alone.

Shooting badge requirements

Nine shooting badges, and the Hall of Fame tiers are brutal — four of them demand a 99. Where two attributes are listed, the tier numbers appear in the same order as the attributes.

Finishing badge requirements

Eleven finishing badges cover layups, dunks, close shots, and post play. Several of the AND badges pair a scoring attribute with a much cheaper secondary rating, which makes them efficient buys.

Playmaking badge requirements

Pass Accuracy is the cheapest route into a badge anywhere in the game — Dimer goes Bronze at just 50. Speed With Ball now carries two badges of its own, and both are capped to guards and wings.

Defense badge requirements

Defense is the biggest category with 12 badges, and it’s also the most demanding, since eight of them require two attributes at once. Perimeter defenders will be paying for Agility or Strength alongside Perimeter Defense on nearly every badge.

Rebounding badge requirements

Only five rebounding badges, and every one except Sync Snatcher needs a second attribute. The Vertical requirements on Crasher and Possession Closer are identical and very cheap, topping out at 70 for Hall of Fame.

Physicals badge requirements

Physicals is the new sixth discipline, and its six badges run off Strength, Speed, Agility, and Vertical. These are easy to overlook because they don’t show up in a box score, but they affect both ends of the floor and they’re often the cheapest tokens to fill.

Attribute breakpoints worth planning around

A handful of numbers do a lot of work. If you’re capping attributes to save points elsewhere, these are the ones to stop on.

  • 83 Three-Point Shot. The entry point for Limitless Range. Stopping at 82 costs you the badge entirely; Gold arrives at 93.
  • 93 Ball Handle. Gold Ankle Assassin. A 90 Ball Handle still gets you Gold Handles for Days, so 90 and 93 are the two stopping points that matter.
  • 70 Vertical. Hall of Fame on Rise Up, Crasher, and Possession Closer all cap out here, which is unusually cheap for a top-tier badge.
  • 95 Strength. Hall of Fame Strong Handle needs only 78 Ball Handle but a 95 Strength, an inversion that suits big guards and wings under 6’11”.
  • 84 Interior Defense. Enough for Hall of Fame Paint Patroller, though the paired Block requirement climbs to 99.

Tip: on AND badges, always check the cheaper attribute first. Post Lockdown at Gold asks for 88 Interior Defense but only 80 Strength, so the Strength side is rarely the thing holding you back — and points spent past 80 there don’t move the badge at all.

The badge list runs to 53 total, with 19 of them new this year and six from the previous game removed, so old muscle memory about which badge covers which situation won’t fully carry over. Build your height and your two or three core attributes around the specific badges you want at Gold or Hall of Fame, then let the leftover points fill in the cheap secondary requirements.
