Loot Hacks are the part of Fortnite Override that lets you spend Sprite Dust to bias your own Chests toward specific weapons and items. The catch is that the menu is not permanent. Every major update this season swaps the selectable items out for a fresh set, and the next three swaps are already mapped out in unreleased build files.

How the Loot Hack refresh and Sprite Dust refund work
Loot Hacks live in the Battle Royale lobby, where Sprite Dust buys and upgrades individual item slots. Hacked items then have a chance to drop from Chests you open in a match, tuned to whatever you boosted. You can also reset the configuration yourself at any time.
When an update rotates the pool, the game clears every upgrade you bought and returns the full amount of Sprite Dust to your balance. Nothing is lost, so there is no reason to hoard Dust ahead of a patch. Max out whatever you want in the current set, and you will get the whole balance back to spend on the new items.
You can confirm a refresh happened by checking two things in the lobby. The item tiles will show a different set of weapons, and your Sprite Dust total will jump back up to include everything you had previously spent.
Loot Hack rotation schedule for September and October
Each rotation carries six slots. Three of the four phases are fully known, with only one slot in the Halloween set still unaccounted for.

The first swap leans heavily on assault rifles, alongside two items that are not weapons at all. The Marksman Visor and Rocket Ram give the set a utility angle that the launch pool mostly lacks.

The October rotation is the Halloween one, and it is the most unusual of the four. Only five of the six slots are filled in, with the last one still blank.

The Witch Broom and Chainsaw both have Fortnitemares history behind them, and Epic has previously used the Chainsaw as a mobility tool as well as a weapon by revving it into the ground. Older behaviour is a reference point, not a guarantee, since returning items get rebalanced.
What can still change before these go live
These line-ups come from unreleased build files, and Epic edits that content right up until an update ships. Item names, stats and even whether something makes the cut can all move. Menus built from those files also carry leftover text and numbers from earlier items, so any damage or durability figures shown alongside them are not reliable.
Note: the sixth Fortnitemares slot has no confirmed item, and Epic has not detailed the Halloween set publicly. Treat the October list as the current shape of the update rather than a finished one.
