The Energized Piranha is a Rare fish in Palia that lives in the rivers of Kilima Valley. It shows up at any time of day, so the only real barriers are location and a bit of luck. You will want one for Bulletin Board bundles, a handful of quests, and fish collection accomplishments.

Quick answer: Fish any Kilima Valley river with Worm bait at any time of day. The Energized Piranha is a rare drop, so keep casting until it appears in your catch results.

Where the Energized Piranha spawns in Kilima Valley

This fish only appears in areas classified as Kilima Rivers. It does not show up in ponds, the lake, or caves, so casting in the wrong water type means you will never see it. Any stretch of river in the region has a chance to produce one, though it remains a rarer result than the common catches around it.

Reliable river stretches to work include the water running from Mirror Fields down toward Kilima Village, the river just north of Whispering Banks, the one near Maji’s Hollow, and the river north of Phoenix Falls. Cast into the deeper part of the river for the best results.

Bait and catch details

Equip Worm bait before you cast. Worms attract the Energized Piranha specifically, which raises its appearance rate compared to fishing with no bait. Time of day does not matter here, unlike the Stickleback and some other river fish that only bite during set hours.

Travel to any Kilima Valley river and open your fishing gear to attach Worm bait to your rod.
Cast as far as you can into the deeper water and wait for the bobber to dip. Reel in once the fish bites.
Check the catch result. Because this is a rare river spawn, expect Red-bellied Piranhas and other common river fish before an Energized Piranha appears. Keep casting in the same spot.

Second method: Boovar drops on the Ranch

You can also get an Energized Piranha as a rare random drop when collecting from a Boovar on your Ranch. Boovars produce a wide range of fish, so this route is also luck based and cannot be guaranteed. It is a useful passive supplement if you already keep Boovars, but fishing the rivers directly gives you far more attempts.

What the Energized Piranha is used for

Beyond selling it for Gold, the fish feeds into several quests, the Game Enhancers Bulletin Board bundle, and multiple fishing accomplishments. It can also be crafted into Medicine for Hodari and gifted to the many villagers who like it.

Note: In the Magical Mystery Machine quest, the Energized Piranha is one of several glowing critters Zeki will accept. If you are catching one only for that quest, a common glowing bug is easier to obtain, but the piranha works if you already have it.

Star Quality versions sell for more and can be placed as decor in a 3×3 circular aquarium. If you are chasing the My First Rare Fish accomplishment, a single catch is enough to tick it off, so the first Energized Piranha you land does double duty toward your fishing progress.
