Orbs are passive items in Heavyweight Fishing that raise damage, cut cooldowns, boost cash, and improve drop chance. Each one only applies to a single skill family, so an Orb sitting in your inventory does nothing unless you are actually using the matching skills. There are six of them, and every one has a different unlock path.
Quick answer: Buy the Taoist Orb from the Taoist Merchant for 100M cash, catch the Rainbow Dragonfish, Frost Queenfish, and Frost Kingfish for their Orbs, finish the Bac Minh quest at Coconut Isle, and beat Enzo at Fallout Isle on Nightmare Mode for the Execution Orb. Orbs can also appear as banner summons.
All Orb sources in Heavyweight Fishing
| Orb | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Taoist Orb | Purchase from the Taoist Merchant NPC for 100,000,000 cash |
| Qian Gate Orb | Guaranteed drop from the secret Rainbow Dragonfish |
| Sage Yijiu Orb | Drops from the secret Frost Queenfish |
| Cloud Ascension Orb | Guaranteed drop from the secret Frost Kingfish |
| Maoshan Orb | Quest reward from the Bac Minh NPC at Coconut Isle |
| Execution Orb | 30% drop from the Enzo boss at Fallout Isle on Nightmare Mode |
Two banners also exist, and Orbs can be pulled from them using crystals. That path is random, so treat it as a supplement rather than a plan.

Add to Google Preferences →Taoist Orb: Taoist Merchant spawn timer and 100M cost
The Taoist Merchant is a roaming vendor that appears on every island except Beginning Island. He spawns on a 30-minute cycle and leaves 10 minutes later, which gives you a fairly tight window to reach him. Since he can land on any qualifying island, the practical approach is to bank the cash first and travel the moment he shows up.

His stock includes the Taoist Orb at 100,000,000 cash. That is the single largest one-time purchase tied to Orbs, and it is worth saving for if you run Apex Eagle Hunt skills, because the Taoist Orb is the only Orb that covers all four stat types at once.
Secret fish drops: Rainbow Dragonfish, Frost Queenfish, and Frost Kingfish
Three Orbs come straight out of the water. The Rainbow Dragonfish and the Frost Kingfish both hand over their Orb on a guaranteed basis, so a single successful catch of either fish is all it takes. The Frost Queenfish supplies the Sage Yijiu Orb.
The difficulty here is the catch itself rather than the reward roll. These are secret fish, so the work is in hooking and landing them at all. Drop-chance bonuses from an already-equipped Orb can help while you hunt for the rest.
Bac Minh quest at Coconut Isle: Skill requirements
This is the only Orb tied to a skill-usage quest, and it is entirely deterministic once you know the requirements.
Execution Orb: Enzo at Fallout Isle on Nightmare Mode
The Execution Orb is the hardest one to reach and the only one with a real failure rate. Enzo sits at Fallout Isle, and you must be level 1000 before the game will let you start the fight on Nightmare Mode. Below that, the encounter is not available to you at all.
Beating Enzo on Nightmare Mode gives a 30% chance at the Execution Orb, so expect repeat clears. The payoff is a straight upgrade to the Five Execution skill line, raising its damage and shortening its cooldowns.
Orb effects and matching skill families
Every Orb rolls its stats within a range, so two copies of the same Orb will not be identical. The skill family in the middle column is a hard restriction, not a preference — an Orb paired with any other skill set contributes nothing.
| Orb | Works with | Stat ranges |
|---|---|---|
| Taoist Orb | Apex Eagle Hunt skills | Damage 25–200%, Cash 5–25%, Cooldown reduction 5–10%, Drop chance 1–50% |
| Execution Orb | Five Execution skills | Damage 5–150%, Cash 10–40%, Cooldown reduction 5–25% |
| Maoshan Orb | Maoshan skills | Damage 25–200%, Cooldown reduction 5–10%, Drop chance 1–50% |
| Qian Gate Orb | Qian Gate Dao skills | Damage 20–100%, Cooldown reduction 5–10%, Drop chance 1–100% |
| Cloud Ascension Orb | Cloud Ascension skills | Damage 10–120%, Cooldown reduction 1–25%, Drop chance 5–15% |
| Sage Yijiu Orb | Sage Yijiu skills | Damage 50–200%, Cash 5–25% |
If you are choosing what to chase first, the Taoist Orb has the broadest spread of bonuses. The Qian Gate Orb is the standout for farming, since its drop chance can roll as high as 100%.
Pulling Orbs from the banner with crystals
The summon button on the left side of the screen opens the banner system, which works like a gacha. Orbs sit among the rarer results, so the pull rate is low and you will need a healthy crystal stock before it becomes worthwhile.
Crystals come from quests, daily login rewards, and code redemptions. Codes are entered through the Codes icon on the left of the screen inside Heavyweight Fishing, and most of them carry a minimum level requirement before they will accept.
How to equip an Orb and confirm it registered
If an Orb does not show up after you finished the requirement, rejoin the server. Interaction prompts and NPC dialogue occasionally stall, and a fresh server usually refreshes them. It is also worth keeping free inventory space before you turn in a quest or land a secret fish.
Working through all six takes a mix of cash saving, boss clears, and patience with secret fish spawns, so most players end up collecting them gradually rather than in one push. Start with whichever Orb matches the skill line you already use, since that is where the damage and cooldown gains show up immediately.
