Anime Expeditions: How Many Villain Coins It Takes to Get Shiny Itachi

Villain Banner pity guarantees a Crow every 500,000 coins, but the shiny version rolls on separate odds with no safety net.

Villain Banner pity guarantees a Crow every 500,000 coins, but the shiny version rolls on separate odds with no safety net.

Crow, the Itachi Uchiha unit added in Anime Expeditions Update 0.5, is the single Secret-rarity character on the limited-time Villain Banner. Getting a copy is a math problem. Getting a shiny copy is not, and that distinction is what turns a 3,000,000 Villain Coin bank into a session with six guaranteed Crows and possibly zero shinies.

Quick answer: Budget 500,000 Villain Coins for one guaranteed Crow (10,000 summons at 50 coins each). Three million coins covers 60,000 summons, or at least six pity Crows — but the shiny trait rolls independently on every pull and has no pity, so no coin total guarantees Shiny Itachi.

Villain Banner cost, Crow odds, and the 10,000-summon pity

Every roll on the Villain Banner costs 50 Villain Coins. Crow sits at a 0.01% drop rate, which makes him the rarest thing in that pool by a wide margin. The banner carries a hard pity at 10,000 summons, so a player who never gets lucky still walks away with the unit at that point.

The counter resets to zero the moment Crow drops. Pull him at summon 3,000 and your next guaranteed copy is 10,000 summons away from there. That reset is why lucky accounts end a big spending session with far more Crows than the pity floor suggests, and why unlucky ones land exactly on the minimum.

A Secret drop interrupts the normal summon flow with its own cutscene, so you will know immediately when Crow appears rather than having to scan a results grid. The unit then lands in your inventory like any other pull.

Open the unit’s detail page after a pull to confirm what you actually got. Crow costs 1400 Yen to deploy and carries the Dark and Magical typings, and duplicates are what you feed into stat rerolls and trait rolls later.

Why the shiny version has no pity

Pity covers the unit. It does not cover the shiny variant. Each summon rolls the shiny trait on its own, which means a player can hit pity six times over and receive six standard Crows. Reported outcomes across the community bear that out — some accounts land a shiny inside 600,000 coins, others burn through 6,000,000 coins and 40-plus Itachi copies before one appears.

You can tell a shiny apart without guesswork. Shiny units are labelled as such in your inventory, the same way a Shiny Dark Mage reads differently from a standard one, and the recolour is visible on the unit card itself.

Two things do stack in your favour. The Shiny Hunter title, once equipped from your profile, is a shiny-focused bonus, and the Shiny Overflow Boost Event periodically raises shiny rates while it runs. Neither converts a bad session into a guaranteed one. Note: server hopping is a popular habit during long summon runs, but leaving for a fresh public server changes nothing that is mechanically confirmed about your odds.

The fastest free way to farm Villain Coins

Villain Coins come from clearing Acts in the Villain Invasion gamemode, from redeeming active codes, and from Robux bundles that start at 199 Robux. The free route is entirely built on the Acts, and the payout scales sharply once you reach Act 4.

Equip a newly added unit or an eligible skin before you queue. This is what puts you in range of the event’s reward bonus.
Push that bonus to 100%. Running below the cap costs you coins on every single clear, so fix it before grinding rather than after.
Open the Events menu, select Villain Invasion, and run Act 3 repeatedly. This is the reliable bulk-coin loop and it also drops the Crow Relic.

Spend Crow Relics only on Act 4 entries. Act 4 pays out a much larger coin bundle than Act 3, so relics used anywhere else are wasted currency.

One more thing will stall a long summon run. A full inventory blocks further pulls outright, and you will hit that wall fast at 50x bulk summons. Set your auto-sell filters in the banner settings before you start, then mass-sell duplicate Mythical units by rarity filter between rounds.

Villain Coin spending priority: Banner, Crow’s Ring, Illusion Crow

The banner is not the only drain on your coins. Both of Crow’s most important upgrades are locked behind the Villain Invasion Shop, and both are priced high enough to matter when you are planning a multi-million coin budget.

PurchaseCostWhat it gives you
Villain Banner summon50 Villain CoinsOne roll at a 0.01% Crow chance
Crow’s Ring5,000 Villain CoinsRequired material to evolve Crow (Black Fire)
Illusion Crow10,000 Villain CoinsSecret equipment; doubles the Broken Mind release to 50%

Order matters. If you do not own Crow yet, everything goes into the banner. If you own him but have not evolved him, buy Crow’s Ring first and collect the rest of the evolution set — 20 Red, 20 Yellow and 20 Purple Sprites, 3 Rainbow Sprites, and 10,000 Gold — then evolve at the Evolve station. Only once Crow (Black Fire) is finished does Illusion Crow become worth its price, since the equipment is unit-locked and does nothing sitting in your inventory.

The payoff is concrete. Crow’s basic attacks apply Illusion for 12 seconds, Broken Mind stores all his damage on that target and detonates 25% of it in a 2-range area when the debuff expires, and Searing Flames chews through enemy shields every tick. Illusion Crow raises that detonation from 25% to 50% while adding up to +10% Damage and up to +5% Range, which is the largest single upgrade available to the unit.

Illusion Crow is tied to the Villain Invasion event shop rather than the permanent equipment pool, and there is no confirmation it returns once the event closes. If you already run Crow (Black Fire), that 10,000-coin purchase is the safer commitment. Chasing a shiny with the leftovers is a gamble the game never promises to settle.
