Wash the Worries Away is a Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet that starts inside Mirkvale and bounces you between two locations before it closes out. It is short, but one step stalls a lot of players: Granny Lu will not be sitting in her chair unless the in-game clock is set correctly.

Quick answer: Return the Ledger to Foreman Shi at Hundredfold Forge, then set the time to the Shen hour at Hangrock Hamlet to make Granny Lu appear, trade her hanky to Xiaoba in Mirkvale, and bring the Custom Cushion back to her.

Where Wash the Worries Away starts in Mirkvale

The quest chain begins at the Hundredfold Forge in Mirkvale, in the Heaven’s Threshold area of the Hidden Mountain. Mirkvale sits west of Heaven’s Threshold in the jagged gorge on the map, and the Wandering Tale sits alongside the Mirkvale Campaign quest in the same pocket of the region.

Two Boundary Stones matter here. Hundredfold Forge is your anchor for the forge side of the quest, and Unitide Terrace is the one you fast travel to when you need to reach Xiaoba later. Hangrock Hamlet is the third pin you will be jumping to.

Full walkthrough: Ledger, hanky, cushion

Head to the Hundredfold Forge in Mirkvale and hop the fence to reach Foreman Shi. Talk to him and the conversation hands you the first clue for the tale — he has misplaced a ledger.

Look on the floor nearby for the Ledger and pick it up. Reading it is optional flavour — the pages cover entries from February and April in Year 3 of Jianlong — but the item is what the quest checks for.

Walk the Ledger back to Foreman Shi. Handing it over closes the first objective and gives you a fresh clue pointing at Hangrock Hamlet.

Open the map and fast travel to Hangrock Hamlet. Cross the wooden bridge and climb the stairs to the chair where Granny Lu should be sitting. If the chair is empty, that is expected at the wrong hour.

Open the time menu and change the hour to Shen. Granny Lu spawns in her chair on that setting, so there is no waiting around involved.

Speak to Granny Lu. She gives you Granny Lu’s Hanky, which is the item you need to take back into Mirkvale.

Fast travel to Unitide Terrace in Mirkvale. Take the zipline and climb up to Zheng Tongda, then continue on to Xiaoba.

Talk to Xiaoba and submit Granny Lu’s Hanky. He turns it into a Custom Cushion and you pick up the final clue.

Fast travel back to Hangrock Hamlet and return to Granny Lu. Submit the Custom Cushion to finish the tale.

Why Granny Lu does not appear

Her chair on the upper level of Hangrock Hamlet stays empty outside her scheduled hour. The Shen hour is the only setting that puts her there, so if you arrive on any other hour you will find the seat vacant and the objective will not advance.

Tip: change the time before you climb the stairs. The spawn resolves as you approach, so setting the hour first saves a second trip up.

Rewards for completing Wash the Worries Away

Handing the cushion to Granny Lu closes the tale immediately and pops the reward screen. The payout matches the standard Version 2.1 Wandering Tale rate for the region.
