Where Winds Meet: How to Get Riven Twinblades at Battlecrest Slope

A comprehension clue and a short conversation with Li Yangui hand over the weapon and Skyspeak Tome I.

A comprehension clue and a short conversation with Li Yangui hand over the weapon and Skyspeak Tome I.

The Riven Twinblades sit locked in the Martial Arts menu until you go and collect them by hand, and the pickup is far less involved than most weapon unlocks in Where Winds Meet. There is no dungeon, no stealth section, and no key to farm. One fast travel point, one clue on the ground, and one conversation is the whole thing.

Quick answer: Fast travel to Battlecrest Slope in Qinghe-Verdant Wilds, inspect the Skyspeak Inner Way Comprehension Clue on the ground, then talk to Li Yangui and pick the “Revisit” dialogue option to receive the Riven Twinblades and Skyspeak Tome I.

Riven Twinblades unlock details

Everything you need to reach the weapon is tied to a single spot on the map. The clue and the NPC are only a few steps apart, so once you land at the travel point you are effectively done.

How to get the Riven Twinblades in Qinghe-Verdant Wilds

Open the map and move to Qinghe-Verdant Wilds, then pick out Battlecrest Slope. It sits close to Northern Vow Ruins, so use those ruins as your visual anchor if the label is crowded out by other icons. Fast travel straight to the point rather than riding in from a distance.

When you land, look at the ground for the Skyspeak Inner Way Comprehension Clue and interact with it. The clue registers the Skyspeak insight at 0% comprehension and points you toward the person who can teach it.

Walk the short distance over to Li Yangui and start talking to her. She is standing in the same small area, so you should not need to search.
Choose the “Revisit” dialogue option and work through the conversation. She talks about General Lie Yan, and the exchange ends with her offering you the general’s old belongings.

Accept the items. The Riven Twinblades and Skyspeak Tome I drop into your inventory together, and the objective updates to “Pardon Parade in progress.”
Open the character menu, learn the Skyspeak Inner Way from the tome, and equip the Riven Twinblades. Until you do this, the weapon is sitting in your bags rather than in your loadout.

How to confirm the unlock worked

Two things change on screen. The reward prompt for the Riven Twinblades and Skyspeak Tome I appears as soon as you accept the general’s items, and the quest step flips to “Pardon Parade in progress.” After that, reopen the Martial Arts menu. The Riven Twinblades entry should no longer be greyed out alongside the other locked weapons, and you can select and equip it directly.

If nothing happens, the usual reason is the conversation. Skipping out of the dialogue early, or picking a different option than “Revisit,” ends the exchange before Li Yangui offers anything. Talk to her again and run the “Revisit” line through to the end.

What the Skyspeak Inner Way does

The tome is not a bonus pickup you can ignore. Skyspeak is the Inner Way built around this weapon, and it applies a base buff that strengthens Riven Twinblades attacks. While you are in the “Inebriate – Deepdaze” state, those attacks trigger “Hero’s Blood – Inebriate.” Learning the tome and equipping the blades together is what makes the pairing behave the way it is meant to.

Practicing the Riven Twinblades moveset

With the weapon equipped, the fastest way to learn the timing is the “Bamboocut – Draught Basic Tutorial II” arena. It drops you into a controlled space where you can run the basic attack chain without anything fighting back.

That is the entire process. Travel, clue, conversation, and a menu visit to slot the weapon and its Inner Way into place — no keys, no prerequisites, and nothing to grind beforehand.
