The Blood of Dawnwalker: Lasting Malediction Manual Location at Tantari Tower

The exact climb, the pouch contents, and the Witchcraft perk the manual unlocks once you read it.

The exact climb, the pouch contents, and the Witchcraft perk the manual unlocks once you read it.

The Lasting Malediction Manual is one of the Witchcraft skill books in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it sits out in the open world rather than behind a quest. You do not have to fight anything for it. You just have to climb.

Quick answer: Travel to Tantari Tower, east of Svartrau City, scale the outside of the ruins using the stone stairs and the Clawride climb, and loot the pouch sitting on the high wooden platform beside the stone archway. The manual is inside.

Tantari Tower location on the map

Tantari Tower stands in the Tantari Woods region, east of Svartrau City. It is one of the game’s climbable towers, so it shows up as a marker once you are close enough, and scouting it from the top also reveals nearby points of interest on your map. Coen flags the idea himself as you approach, muttering that he might spot something interesting from up there and that the climb should be simple enough.

Approach on foot from the road below and follow the objective marker up the slope. The tower is visible from a long way out, so you can line yourself up well before the marker distance drops under a kilometre.

How to climb Tantari Tower to reach the manual

The pouch is not inside the tower. Everything happens on the exterior, working up a mix of broken stone stairs, wooden walkways, and climbable rock faces.

Start at the base of the ruins and take the stone stairs that wrap around the outside of the tower. These carry you up the first stretch without any climbing input at all.
Where the stairs break off, move onto the wooden planking bolted to the ruins. Follow the boards around the structure rather than trying to cut straight up, since the route deliberately loops back on itself.

When you reach a bare rock face or a gap in the boards, use the Clawride climb to keep going. On PC the prompt asks you to hold Left Ctrl, and Coen will latch onto the surface and pull himself up.

Keep alternating between climbs and short walkways until you are near the top of the ruins. The quest tracker stays on screen the whole way, so nothing here interrupts your main objective.

Look for a high wooden platform sitting next to a stone archway. A loot pouch rests on the boards there. Interact with it to collect the manual.

What the loot pouch contains

Opening the pouch hands you four things at once, so the trip is worth more than the manual on its own.

ItemQuantity
Lasting Malediction Manual1
Razor Claw Vial1
Swordsman’s Amulet1
Teras2

Note: a separate chest on Tantari Tower holds an Unholy Fervour manual. Finding that one does not mean you have found this pouch, so check both before you leave the tower.

What the Lasting Malediction Manual does

Lasting Malediction is a Superior Character Development item tied to the Witchcraft tree. Reading it makes your Witchcraft abilities last longer, listed in the menu as +10% Duration, and it unlocks a new perk node in the Witchcraft development tree under Witchcraft Mastery.

Picking the manual up is not enough. Skill manuals only apply once you open your inventory and read them, so head into the inventory screen and use the book after looting it. You will know it worked when the Lasting Malediction entry appears in the Witchcraft tree with the +10% Duration value attached to it.

Other ways to get the Lasting Malediction manual

If you already cleared the tower on an earlier visit, or you simply want a second copy to push the perk further, Vera the Witchcraft Vendor in Maragir Wealds stocks Lasting Malediction manuals. Higher-tier manuals are expensive in Denarius, so expect to pay for the convenience.

Manuals also drop from defeated enemies at random, which means there is no hard cap on how many exist in a run. Buying or looting duplicates is the normal way to top up a perk you have already started, and the Tantari Tower pouch is simply the cheapest first copy.

Since you are already at the top of the ruins, take the moment to scout the tower before climbing down. It reveals nearby markers on the map, which makes the surrounding Tantari Woods easier to sweep for the rest of the Witchcraft books.
