The Herbal Remedies I Manual is one of the earliest Witchcraft upgrades you can grab in The Blood of Dawnwalker without paying a vendor for it. It sits in a chest at the top of a tower, and the only thing standing between you and the perk is a bit of climbing.

Quick answer: Travel to St. Tynis’s Grave Tower, east of Svitra City, climb the wooden scaffolding on the tower’s exterior, and open the chest at the top. Then read the manual from your inventory to unlock the Herbal Remedies I perk.

What the Herbal Remedies I perk does

Herbal Remedies I sits in the Witchcraft skill tree and increases how long your consumables stay active. That covers the food and drink items you carry around, so a single use lasts longer before the effect drops off.

Skill Manuals in The Blood of Dawnwalker exist to raise the level of Witchcraft and Swordmastery perks and abilities. Vampirism is the exception — those skills have no manuals at all and scale off your Corruption Level, which rises when you drink blood.

Where to find the Herbal Remedies I Manual

The manual is stored in a chest at St. Tynis’s Grave Tower, a stone tower east of Svitra City. There is no fight gating it and no quest requirement — the chest is open world loot, and the climb is the whole challenge.

Open your map and mark St. Tynis’s Grave Tower east of Svitra City. Setting the waypoint gives you a distance readout so you can confirm you are heading the right way.

Ride or walk east until the objective counter drops under a kilometre. The approach runs through rocky, exposed ground, so keep the marker on screen rather than trying to eyeball the tower.

Circle the base of the tower until you spot the wooden scaffolding bolted to the outside, then start climbing it. The interior is not the route — the chest is only reachable from the exterior boards.

Follow the on-screen climbing prompts as you work upward. Use Clawride to move along the walls and take the “turn the corner” prompt when the scaffolding wraps around the tower.

Pull yourself onto the platform at the top and open the chest waiting there. The manual is bundled with a few other pickups, so take everything before you drop back down.

How to unlock the perk after looting the manual

Picking the manual up does nothing on its own. Open your inventory, find the entry titled “Granny Oltica’s Real Ribwort Brew, Part 1″, and read it. That is the Herbal Remedies I Manual, and reading it is what applies the upgrade.

To confirm it worked, open the Character menu and check the Witchcraft tree. Herbal Remedies I will show as unlocked, and the manual will no longer sit in your inventory as an unread item.

Note: Reading a manual is a one-time consumption. Any duplicate copies you pick up later apply to the next rank of the perk rather than repeating the same unlock.

Other places the Herbal Remedies I Manual appears

The tower chest is not the only copy in the world. If you have already looted it, or you missed the location entirely, there are three other reliable options.

Manuals also drop from defeated enemies at random, so there is no hard cap on how many you can collect. The game hands out considerably more manuals than you need to max every upgrade, which means missing one chest is never permanent.

Since the tower sits in open world territory with no quest lock, it is worth clearing early. Consumable duration is one of those quiet upgrades you stop noticing precisely because it stops costing you inventory space mid-fight.
