The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Find Lunka in the Forest

The exact route through the blood trail, cave crawl, and icy canyon that ends the prologue’s first objective.

The Blood of Dawnwalker starts you off chasing a child through the woods. “Find Lunka in the forest” is the very first objective of the All Good Things quest, and it doubles as the movement tutorial before the game hands you a sword. There is no combat here, no branching path, and nothing you can miss — just a linear run with two spots where the game expects you to stop sprinting and crouch.

Quick answer: Follow Lunka’s singing up the forest path toward the marker, crawl through the low cave opening at the end of the blood trail, run past the dead deer carcasses into the red-lit icy canyon, then squeeze through the narrow gap in the rock wall to trigger the cutscene that ends the objective.

“Find Lunka in the forest” objective details

You play as Coen, and Lunka is his sister. She runs ahead into the trees singing a nursery rhyme, and the whole sequence is built around chasing that voice. The quest tracker keeps a distance counter on the marker, so you always have a fallback if you lose the audio cue.

The route through the forest to Lunka

Move up the forest path toward the quest marker. Lunka is somewhere ahead singing “Ring-a-ring o’ roses, a pocket full of posies,” and Coen shouts after her as you close the distance. A hallucination flashes at you early on — it is a scripted jump scare, not an enemy, so keep running.

Pick up the blood trail on the ground and follow it. It leads straight to a low opening in the rock under a tree, which is where the path stops being a simple run.
Crouch and crawl through the tunnel. The game puts a prompt on screen for the crouch input — Ctrl on a keyboard — and you cannot get through the gap while standing.

Come out the other side and keep going forward. You will pass a scatter of dead deer carcasses soaked in blood, and the lighting shifts to a red-tinted, icy canyon. Coen comments on both the blood and the impossible ice, which confirms you are on the right track.

Find the narrow gap in the stone wall at the end of the canyon and squeeze through it. That single interaction triggers the closing cutscene and completes the objective.

How to confirm the objective is complete

Control is taken away the moment you push through the gap, and the cutscene runs without any input from you. Coen spots Lunka’s doll frozen in the ice, then finds Lunka herself with blood across her face. She kills a soldier outright with magic, and armed guards close in on Coen from behind.

The scene closes on Lunka telling Coen that she was fed “the vrakhir’s blood” while he stood by, and warning him to save his breath. When the tracker swaps to “Defeat the Soldiers,” the objective is done — that is the game’s own confirmation, and there is nothing left to collect in the forest behind you.

Why the objective stalls, and how to fix it

Almost every hold-up here comes down to one of three things.

  • You are standing at the cave mouth instead of crouching. Hold the crouch input shown on screen and move forward.
  • You stopped for the jump scare. The monster flash early in the run is scripted and cannot hurt you.
  • You lost the singing. Open the tracker and follow the distance counter on the marker instead of the audio.

Note: the icy canyon looks like a dead end from a distance because the exit is a thin crack in the stone rather than an obvious opening. Hug the rock wall and the prompt appears.

Straight after the cutscene you are dropped into a three-on-one fight that serves as the combat tutorial, teaching directional attacks and blocks, omniattack and omniblock, and the golden stamina bar under your health. Save your healing knowledge for then — the forest itself asks nothing of you but a crouch and a squeeze.
