The Tsar’s White Birch is not decoration. It is a plant that grows out of the ground in Snezhnaya with unusually flexible branches, and those branches respond to you rather than sitting still. Walk up to one and it moves.
Quick answer: The branches bend toward your companion Goggles to pull in energy, and standing too close leaves you ensnared. If a birch has grown over an Elemental Monument, you cannot activate that monument while caught, so move back, break contact, and interact again from a distance.
What happens when you touch the Tsar’s White Birch
The birch reacts to Goggles specifically. As you approach, its branches swing around and lean in, trying to absorb Goggles’ energy. That reaching motion is the tell that you are already inside the plant’s range, and it happens before anything bad occurs.
Push past that point and the birch closes on you. Being ensnared is a state, not damage, and it holds you in place instead of knocking you around. The fix is simply distance, since the branches release once you are no longer in reach.
| Where you are | What the birch does |
|---|---|
| Approaching with Goggles | Branches turn toward Goggles and try to draw in energy |
| Standing right next to it | You get ensnared and are held by the branches |
| Ensnared beside an overgrown monument | The Elemental Monument cannot be activated |
| After backing away | You are free again and the monument can be triggered |

Some Elemental Monuments in Snezhnaya are half swallowed by the birch. The plant has grown around the monument, so the usual instinct of walking straight up to it and hitting interact is exactly what breaks the puzzle. You get grabbed before you ever get the prompt.
You know it worked when the monument lights up and resolves as any other Elemental Monument does. If nothing happens at all and no prompt appears, the cause is almost always the same one, which is that the birch still has hold of you.
Sky-spanning birch clips and Prime Ice Resource drops come from modded builds
Footage circulating of an enormous glowing blue birch stretching across the whole sky, with a player floating up to it and collecting “Prime Ice Resource” by flying into the branches, comes from a modded private server rather than the live game. Those runs use custom characters and a custom Snezhnaya map, so the numbers and drops in them do not carry over to a normal account.
The same clips lean heavily on tools that are not part of standard play. Camera mode is used to park the character in a floating pose high above a snowy village, the in-game clock is switched to morning mid-flight, and the Wind-Powered Wind Generator gadget provides the upward boost needed to keep gliding at that altitude.

The hidden interface in those recordings is a display toggle, not a mechanic tied to the birch. Left Ctrl+H turns the HUD off and on, which is why the Show UI prompt sits in the corner of most of the frames.

When the player finally glides straight into the glowing branches, the client hands over more of the same resource pickups. That reward loop only exists in the modified build, and it is the opposite of what a birch does on a live account, where contact ends in being ensnared.

Where the Tsar’s White Birch fits in Snezhnaya
The birch shares its name with the White Birch Snowgrave, the resting place of the first Cryo Archon. That ruler was the Belyi Tsar, personally named Monomakh Snezhnyi, who fell during the Cataclysm 500 years ago and was succeeded by the Tsaritsa.
Snezhnaya itself opened to players with version 7.0 on August 12, 2026, as the eighth region of Teyvat. Treat every birch you pass the same way once you are exploring it, keeping Goggles at arm’s length from the branches and solving any entwined monument from outside the plant’s reach.
