Neustadt Tower is the scouting viewpoint tucked into the rooftops of Svartrau City, and it is the one most players reach first once the capital opens up. Syncing it sweeps the surrounding districts, drops a batch of question-mark icons onto the world map, and hands over a skill point on the way down.
Quick answer: Go to the southwestern battlements of Svartrau City at night, climb onto the rooftops before the guards react to your trespassing, use Clawride to grapple up the wooden roof sections to the very peak of the tower, then survey each landmark prompt to complete the viewpoint.
Neustadt Tower location and requirements
The tower sits in the Neustadt district in the southwestern part of Svartrau City. On the map it carries the same white tower icon used by every scouting tower in Vale Sangora, and you can track it directly from the map screen so the marker stays on your compass while you cut through the streets.
Two conditions decide whether this works at all. It has to be night, because the climb depends on Coen’s vampiric traversal, and you need to be willing to trespass briefly on the battlements before pulling yourself up out of reach.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Region | Svartrau City, Neustadt district (southwest) |
| Time of day | Night only |
| Traversal used | Shadowstep onto the rooftop, Clawride up the roof sections |
| Time cost | None — scouting towers do not advance the clock |
| Reward | 100 XP and 1 skill point |
| Chest or manual | None at this tower |
Note: Because towers cost no in-game time, there is no reason to postpone them. You can tag several of the city towers in a single night without eating into the days you have left to rescue your family.

Surveying the city: landmarks and map icons
Reaching the peak starts a cinematic sweep across Svartrau. Coen picks out each landmark in turn, and you can skip the sequence with the on-screen prompt if you have already seen it on another tower.

Four locations get called out from this tower. Svartrau Cathedral dominates the skyline, the keep of Greifberg looms over the city, Silberstein is flagged as the wealthiest quarter, and Neustadt itself closes out the sweep.

Confirm each point by pressing the button prompt as the camera settles on it. That is what actually populates the world map, filling the surrounding area with question-mark icons for activities and points of interest you have not visited yet.

Rewards and how to confirm the tower is done
Completing the viewpoint pays out 100 XP and 1 skill point. In practice that is often enough to push Coen over a level threshold on a first visit, and the level-up overlay appears the moment the survey ends.

Two things tell you it registered. The skill point counter ticks up alongside the XP gain, and reopening the map shows the tower marked as completed with fresh icons scattered around the district. Unlike several towers out in the countryside, this one has no chest or skill manual attached, so there is nothing else to loot before you drop back down.
Why the viewpoint might not trigger
- It is daytime. Scouting towers can only be climbed at night, when Shadowstep and wall-walking are available.
- You stopped short of the peak. The cinematic only fires from the top of the tower, not from the roofs below it.
- Guards caught you on the battlements. Get onto the rooftop quickly rather than exploring the walls on foot.
- You skipped the survey prompts. Skipping the cutscene is fine, but the map only fills in once you confirm the landmark points.
Neustadt is one of eleven scouting towers in Vale Sangora, and clearing all of them unlocks the Bird’s-Eye View trophy and achievement. Since the capital holds several of them within a short rooftop run of each other, the sensible play is to knock out the city cluster in one night while your vampiric traversal is up.
