Blood of Dawnwalker: Laslea Glen Treasure Map and Minor Fortitude Paste Recipe

Bandits’s Treasure Map: Laslea Glen is a short side activity in The Blood of Dawnwalker that starts in Outlaw’s Gorge and ends at a bear cave a little way east of it. It is one of the earliest reliable ways to pick up a real weapon upgrade and your first melee-damage recipe, and the whole thing costs a single time segment.

Quick answer: Grab the treasure map from the table inside the bandit house at the Bandit Camp in Outlaw’s Gorge, travel east to the bear cave, kill the Ravenous Bear, pick up the shovel next to the disturbed earth, and spend one hour digging. Then open your inventory and read the Recipe for Minor Fortitude Paste to add it to the crafting menu.

Bandits’s Treasure Map: Laslea Glen rewards

The activity pays 100XP plus everything inside the buried chest. The headline item is the Polished Long Cleaver, a Level 5 sword rated around 90 DPS that unlocks a Weapon Art for Coen, which is a bonus attack you can trigger in combat once it charges.

Treasure map location: Bandit Camp in Outlaw’s Gorge

Fast travel to the Outlaw’s Gorge Shrine in Laslea Glen. The camp sits below it in the hills, near the church, and shows up on your map as Bandit Camp.

Clear the camp. You are up against a Renegade Bruiser, a couple of other bandits, and a tamed wolf that patrols with them. Loot the Bruiser afterwards for coin and a combat manual before you move on.

Go inside the wooden cabin and take Bandit’s Treasure Map: Laslea Glen off the table. Picking it up starts the activity. Sweep the rest of the house too, since there is jewellery, a balm and a set of trousers lying around.

Open the map from your inventory and compare the hand-drawn sketch with your world map. The red X is rough rather than exact, but it points to a cave directly east of the camp. Set your own marker there so you are not relying on the drawing while you travel.

Beating the Ravenous Bear at the dig site

The route east from the camp is a snowy path with no real obstacles, so the walk itself is safe. The problem is what is standing outside the cave.

A Ravenous Bear guards the entrance and has to die before you can dig. It leans on two unblockable moves. The first is a straight charge that knocks you flat, and the second is a rear-up followed by a ground slam in front of it. Both are telegraphed clearly enough to sidestep, so dodge laterally rather than backwards, and punish with a counterattack whenever you land a perfect dodge.

Loot the carcass once it goes down. It yields Bear Meat, Bear Liver and Animal Bones, and Bear Liver in particular feeds later recipes, so it is worth the extra few seconds.

Digging out the treasure (costs 1 time segment)

Move into the cave area and look for the bodies and the patch of disturbed earth. Focus mode makes this easier, since it puts a yellow glow on the interaction point.

Interacting with the earth tells you a shovel is required. One is lying nearby, so grab it rather than backtracking to a merchant.

Use Dig Out the Treasure. Excavating burns one time segment and pushes the in-game clock forward by an hour, which matters while the 35-day countdown to rescue your family is running. If you are mid-prologue and short on daylight, it is cleaner to spend that hour during Smoke and Ashes than during a tighter objective.

Loot the chest that surfaces. You will see QUEST ENDED on screen once the pickup finishes, which is your confirmation the activity is complete.

How to unlock and craft Minor Fortitude Paste

Picking up the Recipe for Minor Fortitude Paste is not enough on its own. It sits in your inventory as a readable item, and until you open it and read it, the paste will not appear in the crafting menu. That single missed step is the usual reason players think the recipe did not drop.

Once read, Minor Fortitude Paste shows up under the melee attack category of the crafting list. It is the entry-level tier of the Fortitude Paste line.

Ribwort Plantain grows commonly around Laslea Glen and is also used in the healing and vitality lines, so gather it whenever you pass it. Boar Fat comes from wild boars, and Linseed Oil is a base reagent shared with several other tier-one recipes.

Tip: if you plan to keep pushing the melee line, Fortitude Paste and Potent Fortitude Paste both scale from the same idea, with the stronger versions swapping Linseed Oil for Weak or Strong Spirits and adding Boar Tusks or a Wild Boar Kidney.

Nine other treasure maps are scattered across the world and follow the same pattern of a written map, a guarded dig site and a shovel-gated excavation. Laslea Glen is the cheapest of them to run early, since the only real gate is the Ravenous Bear and the hour of daylight you trade for the chest.
