Blox Fruits Update 30: How to Complete the Volcano Island Secret

Break the lava crater, clear every Magma Elemental it spawns, and collect the reward from the village Quest Giver.

Break the lava crater, clear every Magma Elemental it spawns, and collect the reward from the village Quest Giver.

Update 30 rebuilt all 16 islands of the First Sea in Blox Fruits and buried 40 Island Secrets across them. Volcano Island — the black-rock island with the active volcano, also known as Magma Village — holds three of them, and the easiest one to find sits right out in the open in the lava field near the dock. It is a short fight with a long payoff, since secrets are what push your level past the old cap and open up fast travel.

Quick answer: Walk into the lava area near the dock, hit the red volcanic crater until it bursts open, kill the large Magma Elemental and every Mini Magma Elemental it spawns, then speak to the Quest Giver NPC in the village to claim the reward.

DetailWhat to expect
WhereThe lava pool and lava field near the Volcano Island dock
TriggerA raised red volcanic crater (nest) sitting in the lava
EnemiesOne large Magma Elemental plus several Mini Magma Elementals
Turn-inThe Quest Giver NPC in the village at the volcano’s base

Note: the crater is the only part of this secret you need to hunt for. Everything after it happens automatically once you start hitting it.

How to complete the Volcano Island lava crater secret

Dock at Volcano Island and head straight for the lava field near the shoreline. The crater sits inside the molten area rather than on the black stone, so you will be standing in or beside lava for most of this fight.

Look for the large red mound spitting out small lava creatures. Those Mini Lava Elementals wander off toward nearby trees and set them on fire, so the smoke is a reliable pointer if you cannot spot the crater itself.
Attack the crater directly. A few solid hits will crack it open, and a high-damage weapon such as the Cursed Dual Katana ends this part almost instantly. Fruit moves, guns, and fighting styles all register as damage here.

Any high-damage weapon works on the crater; the Cursed Dual Katana breaks it in seconds.
Fight the large Magma Elemental that emerges. Watch for the on-screen line reading “The Magma Elemental is splitting apart!” — that is the cue that smaller versions are breaking off and joining the fight.

Clear every remaining Mini Magma Elemental in the area. The objective does not close out while any of them are still alive, and stragglers often drift toward the burning trees rather than staying near the crater.
Walk up to the village houses at the base of the volcano and talk to the Quest Giver NPC, marked with a yellow question mark above their head. They hand over the reward with the line “Good work. Here’s something for your trouble.”

How to confirm the secret registered

The moment the last elemental dies, a “Secret Levels Available!” notification appears on screen. That message is your confirmation that the combat portion is done and that levels are waiting for you at the NPC. If you see it, the fight counted.

The second confirmation comes from the dialogue itself. Once the Quest Giver pays out, the secret is logged for that island and counts toward its three-secret total.

Why the secret may not complete

  • The crater is still standing. Nothing spawns until you break it, and killing the Mini Lava Elementals on their own does not start the fight.
  • A small elemental is still alive. The objective needs the large Magma Elemental and all of its split-off pieces gone, not just the big one.
  • You never spoke to the NPC. The reward is not automatic. Winning the fight only unlocks it — the village Quest Giver has to hand it over.

What Volcano Island’s other secrets and rewards unlock

Volcano Island holds three secrets in total. The second one comes from the Living Skeleton, who asks you to shut down a drill running inside Volcano Cave, reached through the mine entrance around the back edge of the island.

Every secret you finish awards a star and extra levels from the island’s quest giver. Those levels stack past the old ceiling, with Update 30 raising progression up to Level 3000. Clearing all three secrets on an island also opens it up as a destination for the new teleporter in Middle Town, which is the real reason to bother sweeping the First Sea instead of just grinding mobs.

If you are working through the First Sea island by island, the lava crater is one of the fastest secrets to knock out. Break it, clear the elementals, and walk twenty seconds uphill to get paid.
