Illegal Soccer is soccer with the rulebook removed, and the Items are the reason. Barricades, shotguns, freeze guns, and a jetpack all live in the same unlock pool, and none of them show up in a match until you have actually unlocked them first. The whole system runs through one roll screen in the Shop.
Quick answer: Press Z to open the Shop, switch to the “Your Items” tab, and hit “Roll an Item” for 1,000 Coins. Unlocked Items then drop from the question block that spawns during matches, and you fire them with the Left Mouse Button.
How Items actually reach you during a match
You do not select an Item and spawn with it. Every so often a colorful question mark block appears somewhere on the pitch, and walking into it hands you one Item at random. Only one block sits on the field at a time, so it usually turns into a foot race between eight players.
The Item you receive is pulled from the pool of Items you own. The game unlocks three by default, and every successful roll adds another one to that pool. You can carry a loadout of up to three Items at a time, and each one fires with the Left Mouse Button once it is in your hands.
That randomness is the catch. Unlocking the Jetpack does not mean you get the Jetpack — it means the Jetpack becomes one of the things a question block can give you. A wider pool means more variety, not more control.

Z, or click the Shop button on the HUD. The Shop opens on the Daily Shop tab by default. Those counters are worth watching. The roll screen tracks “Guaranteed Rare: 0/10,” “Guaranteed Epic: 0/35,” and “Guaranteed Mythic: 0/85,” so a long unlucky streak eventually pays out. Eighty-five rolls is 85,000 Coins for a guaranteed Mythic, which in practice means the Jetpack is a long-term goal rather than a weekend one.
If nothing happens when you click, the game will tell you why: Not enough coins. Rolls cost 1000 coins. There is no partial roll and no discount for a near miss, so go win a few more matches.
Every Item in Illegal Soccer, rarity, and roll chance
There are 14 Items in total, split across five rarity tiers. The percentage next to each one on the roll screen is the chance of pulling it on any single roll.
| Item | Rarity (chance) | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Barricades | Common (12.5%) | Places up to three walls to block shots and slow an approach |
| Energy Drink | Common (12.5%) | Drink it for a temporary stat boost |
| Forcefield | Common (12.5%) | Blocks tackles and attacks from other players for a short time |
| Supercharge | Common (12.5%) | Short burst of extra movement speed |
| Grappling Hook | Uncommon (7.8%) | Pulls you toward the ball or another player |
| Magnet | Uncommon (7.8%) | Drags the ball toward you |
| Oil Spill | Uncommon (7.8%) | Coats the ground so players slip and fall |
| Shotgun | Uncommon (7.8%) | Knocks a player down for a few seconds |
| Flintlock | Rare (7.8%) | Single shot that drops an opponent |
| Landmines | Rare (7.8%) | Explosive traps that launch nearby players |
| Rocket Punch | Rare (5.0%) | Locks onto a target and sends them flying |
| Bazooka | Epic (5.0%) | Fires an RPG that blows everyone near the impact away |
| Freeze Gun | Epic (0.6%) | Freezes players in place so you can take the ball |
| Jetpack | Mythic (0.6%) | Fly across the map and steal the ball outright |
Note: the percentages are displayed live on the roll screen, so glance at them before you spend. Mobility Items like the Grappling Hook and Jetpack change your positioning more than anything else in the pool, while Barricades and Forcefield are the ones defenders actually want.
The Daily Shop tab is cosmetics only
The tab the Shop opens on is not where gadgets live. The Daily Shop rotates a handful of cosmetic items — jerseys, emotes, and goal effects — and every one of them is bought with Robux rather than Coins.

Prices vary by slot. A jersey like Blue Tiger runs 99 Robux, the Laugh emote sits at 49, and the 8-Ball ball is 249. Goal effects sit at the top end, with Crimson Flash at 349 and Implosion at 799, while the T-Pose emote is priced at 750. A “Daily Deal: 50% off” banner appears on discounted slots.

Because the lineup refreshes, anything you skip may not be there the next day. Goal effects in particular tend to headline the tab, so if one is showing and you want it, that is the window.

Check and equip what you own in the Inventory
Press X in the lobby, or click the Inventory button, to see everything you have unlocked. It is sorted into four tabs: Jerseys, Balls, Emotes, and Goal Effects. Selecting an entry equips it, and the currently active one is marked in the list.

This is also how you confirm a purchase went through. Anything you bought from the Daily Shop lands in the matching tab straight away, and a gadget you rolled becomes selectable in your Item loadout rather than appearing here as a cosmetic.
Test new Items in the practice area first
Head to the far side of the hub and you will find the practice area, split into Shooting Practice and Goalkeeper Practice. It is the only place you can trigger something like Rocket Punch or Forcefield without a defender immediately punishing you for the wind-up.
Worth knowing before you burn a fresh unlock in a real match: Items are single-use once you pick them up, and holding one costs you nothing. Saving the Shotgun for a breakaway is almost always better than firing it at midfield, and Barricades matter most when the ball is already near your own goal.
Unlocking everything is a Coin problem more than a skill problem. Play matches, roll at 1,000 Coins a go, and let the pity counters do the heavy lifting on the Epic and Mythic tiers — the Jetpack will come eventually, and every roll before it still widens the pool the question block draws from.
