“Things Will Be Different Now” is the closing main quest of The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it plays out no matter which route you take against Brencis. Coen returns to the snowbound village of Laslea Glen, runs a short chain of errands for his neighbours, and uses what he collects to reach his sister Lunka in a cave outside the valley floor. It is a quiet sequence with no combat, but a few objectives are easy to stall on because they depend on inspecting the right object or waiting for the right time of day.
Quick answer: Help Gavril hammer his fence to get the peat, clean the dirt off Rainer’s cart axle to get the blanket, and pull the rabbit from the third snare in the woods. Hand the peat to Anca for the Special Concoction, wait until midnight, climb the cliffs to the cave, give Lunka the blanket and rabbit, then accept Neberu’s terms and take his letter to end the quest.
When “Things Will Be Different Now” starts
The quest fires after your confrontation with Brencis resolves, whichever of the four full story endings you land on. Coen wakes back in Laslea Glen with the objective “Do errands in Laslea” on the tracker, and the village behaves like a normal settlement again. Lunka has already been turned into a vrakhiri at this point, and that outcome does not change between endings — the errands exist to make her more comfortable, not to cure her.
One variation is worth knowing. On the Rise at Dawn route, Coen’s father Pieter survives, so an extra optional errand appears where you can help him with repairs alongside the three required tasks.

Each errand hands over exactly one item, and you need all three before the cave objective becomes useful. The peat is the trade good for Anca; the blanket and the rabbit go directly to Lunka.
| Objective | What you do | Item you get |
|---|---|---|
| Talk to Gavril | Help hammer his fence | Peat |
| Talk to Rainer | Inspect the stuck cart wheel and clean the axle | Warm blanket |
| Check the snares for game | Search three traps in the nearby woods | Dead Rabbit |

Trading the peat to Anca for the Special Concoction
Anca’s hut sits out in the forest beyond the village, and she is the only stop that consumes one of your collected items. Hand her the peat and she prepares the Special Concoction for Lunka.
She is blunt about what it is. The mixture is strong enough to be lethal, and Coen takes it knowing that. Nothing you say here changes Lunka’s fate, so treat the conversation as flavour rather than a branching choice.
Reaching the cave at midnight
With the concoction, the blanket and the rabbit in hand, advance time until midnight before setting out. The “Reach the cave” objective points to a rock face rather than a path, so you climb it — Coen’s vampiric traversal handles the ascent up the cliffs to the entrance.

Inside, Lunka is in her beast-like vrakhiri form and will not attack. Give her the blanket and the rabbit; both are handed over through the interaction prompt, and the scene continues once she has them.
Neberu, the Arbiter, and the Council of Augurs offer
A stranger appears at the cave and Coen challenges him on the spot. He introduces himself as Neberu, a Dawnwalker like Coen and an Arbiter speaking for the Council of Augurs.

His terms are simple. The Augurs can do something for Lunka that Anca’s concoction cannot, and in return Coen has to answer their call. Accept, and Neberu passes you a letter of instructions that closes out the quest.
How to confirm the quest is finished
Taking the letter is the completion trigger. The game moves straight into the epilogue, where Coen narrates the final outcomes for Laslea Glen, Knyaz Brencis, Anca, Lacra and himself over a run of illustrated slides. If you are still standing in the cave with control of Coen, the acceptance dialogue has not been picked yet.

Two things reliably stall players here. Rainer’s blanket does not unlock from conversation alone — you have to clean the axle — and the cave objective expects the midnight window, so heading up early leaves you waiting. Note: if you want to see the other endings after the credits, load a save made before the final confrontation rather than one made during these errands, since this quest sits on the far side of that branch and always resolves the same way for Lunka.
