Update 3 is the largest content drop RUNAWAYS has received since leaving its first weeks of beta. It widens the rob-pawn-drive loop with four new buildings to break into, a batch of edible loot that doubles as healing, two new machine types worth smashing, and a career menu that logs everything you have found. A new code shipped alongside it.
Quick answer: Open the Shop, go to the codes tab, and enter BOTCHER for 2,500 Credz. The Butcher shop, Sushi shop, Electronics store and Parcel office now spawn along the route, and eating food items restores health mid-run.
Everything Update 3 adds to RUNAWAYS
The update went live on September 5, 2026, and the in-game event tied to it runs through September 12. Here is what changed.
| Addition | What it does |
|---|---|
| Four new locations | Butcher shop, Sushi shop, Electronics store and a Parcel office, all lootable |
| Vending and coffee machines | Breakable for small cash payouts |
| New items | Steaks, ribs, coffee, sushi, ramen, canned food and packages with random value, plus secret items and weapons |
| Career menu | Tracks which items and locations you have discovered |
| Paintings | Now hang on walls instead of sitting loose |
| Car skins | Cosmetic finishes for your vehicles |
| New end screen | Replaces the old run summary |
| Bug fixes | More than 50 in this patch |
How to redeem the BOTCHER code for 2,500 Credz
BOTCHER in capitals with no trailing spaces, then press Use. Your Credz balance should jump by 2,500 immediately; if the number does not move, the entry was rejected and you can retype it after a short wait.Note: two older codes still function alongside it. SUPERCAT grants a Pistol to your lobby inventory and RUN pays out 1,000 Credz. Codes for a beta game are frequently faked, so anything not on this short list is unlikely to redeem.
The four new locations and what is inside them
The new buildings slot into the existing highway route, so you pass them naturally on a normal run toward the border. Each one has a register to empty and shelf loot to carry back to your vehicle.
| Location | In-game name | What to take |
|---|---|---|
| Butcher shop | Botched Butcher | Register cash, steaks and ribs |
| Sushi shop | Kinda Sushi | Sushi, ramen, water and register cash |
| Electronics store | Worst Buy | Laptops, consoles such as the PS5, plus food items |
| Parcel office | OOPS | Packages with randomised value |
Vending machines and coffee machines are now placed inside and outside these buildings. Breaking one pays out a small amount of cash, so they are worth a swing on the way past rather than a detour.
Food heals you and coffee gives a speed boost
The consumables are not just pawn fodder. Eating sushi or drinking water restores health during a run, which matters now that the old healing exploit no longer works. Coffee behaves differently and grants a temporary movement speed increase, useful for the sprint back to your car after an alarm trips.
Because food spawns in the gas stations, the Slopmart and all four new buildings, you can carry a couple of items purely as emergency healing and sell the rest at the pawn shop.
Career menu tracks discovered items and locations
The career menu is a running collection log. It records which items you have picked up and which locations you have entered across all of your runs, so the new food, packages and secret items each get a slot to fill. It sits alongside the shop, classes and vehicle menus in the lobby.
Starting a solo run to clear the new locations

Missions running during a run
A missions panel sits on the side of the screen during a run and tracks objectives as you complete them. Tasks cover the whole loop, from destroying vehicles to finding a specific food item and covering distance on the highway, and each shows its own progress counter.

Objectives keep ticking while you drive, so long stretches of highway between shops are not dead time.

Several objectives can be active at once, mixing combat, food collection and mileage into the same drive.

Finished objectives are marked as completed in the list, while distance-based tasks keep counting until you cross the target.

Loot values and fuel costs to plan around
Vehicle space is limited, so the point of the new stores is high-value pickups rather than filling the boot with clutter. Fuel prices also move during a run, which changes how much of your haul goes back into the tank.
| Item or cost | Value |
|---|---|
| Guitar | $1,000 |
| Computer | $360 |
| PS5 | $275 |
| Packages (Parcel office) | Randomised |
| Vending and coffee machines | Small cash amounts |
| Fuel, early in a run | $10.00 |
| Fuel, later in a run | $17.65 |
Tip: refuel while prices are still low rather than waiting until the tank is nearly empty, because the rate climbs the further you get.
Update 4 and Update 5 dates
Two more updates are already on the experience page. Update 4 is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 at 12:00 AM, with Update 5 following on Saturday, September 19 at the same time. Neither has published contents yet, so treat any feature list circulating for them as unconfirmed.
Until then, the fastest way to feel the change is a solo lobby and one full pass along the highway, hitting the Botched Butcher, Kinda Sushi, Worst Buy and the parcel office in sequence. Redeem BOTCHER first so the 2,500 Credz are sitting in your balance before you pick a class.
