The max level in Final Fantasy Resonance is Lv 99, and that cap is the same for all eight playable characters: Rain, Lasswell, Fina, Lid, Nichol, Archwitch Fina, Jake and Sakura. No tutorial names the cap, and the Level Up screen simply keeps counting “Next Lv” EXP as you climb.
Quick answer: The max level is Lv 99 for every party member. Reaching it takes 566,553 total EXP for Rain, Lasswell, Fina and Lid, and 566,521 for Nichol, Archwitch Fina, Jake and Sakura. The story ends around Lv 55 to 60; Lv 99 is for post-game fights like Omega (Lv 99) in the Colosseum.
Total EXP needed to reach Lv 99
The figures below are cumulative EXP counted from Lv 1. The party splits into two groups that follow almost identical curves, separated by just 32 EXP at every milestone. The Level Up screen shows each character’s role, attribute gains, skill list by level and the “Next Lv” EXP count.

| Level | Rain, Lasswell, Fina, Lid | Nichol, Archwitch Fina, Jake, Sakura |
|---|---|---|
| Lv 10 | 755 | 723 |
| Lv 20 | 4,196 | 4,164 |
| Lv 30 | 13,867 | 13,835 |
| Lv 50 | 98,006 | 97,974 |
| Lv 99 | 566,553 | 566,521 |
The curve gets steep late. By Lv 50 you have banked 98,006 of the 566,553 EXP, which means more than 80 percent of the grind sits between Lv 50 and Lv 99.

Add to Google Preferences →HP and MP at Lv 99 for each party member
The listed HP and MP maximums are base stats, with no gear or Visions included. In the battle party panel, Fina’s HP at Lv 10 reads 511, the same as her Lv 10 value below.

| Character | Lv 1 (HP / MP) | Lv 10 (HP / MP) | Lv 50 (HP / MP) | Lv 99 (HP / MP) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rain | 200 / 35 | 704 / 80 | 3,648 / 300 | 7,030 / 442 |
| Lasswell | 170 / 40 | 602 / 94 | 3,098 / 354 | 5,972 / 510 |
| Fina | 160 / 65 | 511 / 121 | 2,583 / 399 | 4,958 / 586 |
| Lid | 180 / 35 | 558 / 87 | 2,782 / 342 | 5,333 / 487 |
| Nichol | 170 / 55 | 494 / 109 | 2,414 / 369 | 4,613 / 542 |
| Archwitch Fina | 200 / 70 | 524 / 140 | 2,444 / 482 | 4,643 / 707 |
| Jake | 190 / 36 | 595 / 81 | 2,939 / 301 | 5,637 / 443 |
| Sakura | 150 / 75 | 456 / 131 | 2,232 / 409 | 4,275 / 596 |
At the cap, Rain has the most HP of anyone at 7,030. Archwitch Fina has the deepest MP pool at 707.
Do you need Lv 99 to finish the story?
No. The final story boss in Chapter 8, the last of the game’s 8 chapters, is Lv 55, so expect your party to finish the story somewhere around Lv 55 to 60.
The Lv 99 cap comes into play in the post-game. In the highest tier of the Colosseum, recommended levels span Lv 75 through Lv 99; Shinryu is Lv 95 and Omega is Lv 99. Omega is the game’s sole enemy at Lv 99. Other post-game encounters on the bosses list build toward that level:
- Ultima Weapon: Lv 70
- Holy Dragon: Lv 80
- Beast of Ruin: Lv 90
- Shinryu: Lv 95
- Omega: Lv 99
Fastest ways to gain EXP
After every battle, the Growth screen lists each party member’s level and how much EXP they still need for the next one, which makes it easy to track a grind.

In the post-game, beating Ultima Weapon once grants 300,000 EXP and 500,000 Gil. That single battle supplies more than half the EXP required to reach Lv 99.
Before that, the metal cactuars are the EXP enemies to hunt. All three resist every element and evade a lot, so expect to miss often. Where to find each one is covered under Metal Cactuar and Metal Minituar.
| Enemy | Level | EXP | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metal Minituar | Lv 18 | 2,500 | Dirnado’s World Map fields, Chapter 2 |
| Metal Cactuar | Lv 36 | 25,000 | Mysidia, Chapter 5 |
| Metal Gigantuar | Lv 52 | 150,000 | Later in the story |
If you need money rather than levels, Gil farming has its own routes. Visions do not use party EXP at all; they level separately through Mastery Rank and MRP, explained in Vision Mastery Rank.
