Blox Fruits: How to Awaken the Cyborg Boss in Fountain City

The Secrets Master check, the junkyard wire trigger, and what the awakened Lv. 675 fight actually pays out.

The Secrets Master check, the junkyard wire trigger, and what the awakened Lv. 675 fight actually pays out.

The awakened version of Cyborg does not spawn on a normal boss timer. It is tied to Fountain City’s secret rotation, and it will not take a single point of damage until you fix the damaged wires scattered across the junkyard floor. Miss that step and you will stand there swinging at an invincible boss while the spawn window burns.

Quick answer: Talk to the Secrets Master in Middle Town and confirm the answer is Fountain City, then head to the Junk Yard and hit every damaged ground wire with your fighting style until they stop glowing. Cyborg eats a fruit, becomes Cyborg (Awakened) [Lv. 675], and can then be damaged.

Check the Secrets Master in Middle Town first

The awakened secret rotates between islands, so only one island is active at a time. The Secrets Master NPC in Middle Town tells you which one, and there is no way to force Fountain City to be the active island.

Travel to Middle Town and find the building where the Secrets Master stands. Do this before the hour rolls over — roughly ten minutes out, so around :50, gives you enough time to travel.
Speak to him and pick the dialogue option asking about the secret, or the “Which boss stirs next?” prompt. He names the island where the awakened boss is currently active.
If he says anything other than Fountain City, you cannot awaken Cyborg right now. Come back later and ask again once the rotation moves on.

The spawn itself runs on a set schedule every hour, on the hour, and takes roughly two minutes to appear once the window opens. You do not need to complete any other Fountain City secret first — the pipe puzzle and the sewer run are separate and have no bearing on this one.

Get to the Fountain City Junk Yard

Fountain City is the final island of the First Sea, sitting in the Lv. 625–700 range. Fast travel over as soon as the Secrets Master confirms it, since the two-minute spawn delay is your only buffer.

Head for the Junk Yard area rather than the workshop peninsula where the standard Cyborg normally stands. When the event fires, the screen darkens and a chat message announces that the junkyard has been magnetized by lightning and the fountain’s machinery has gone silent. That message is your confirmation the sequence is live.

Repair the ground wires to trigger the awakening

This is the actual trigger. Damaged wires lie on the ground around Cyborg, glowing in green, blue, and red. They need to be charged with basic attacks before the boss becomes vulnerable.

Equip a fighting style or sword and use your standard M1 attacks on the first wire you see. Any attack works, but fast melee is the quickest way to register hits.

Keep hitting each wire until its glow goes out. A wire that has stopped glowing is done; one that is still lit still needs hits.
Sweep the whole junkyard before assuming you are finished. The wires are spread across the area and are not clustered together, so two or three repaired wires does not mean the set is complete.
Once the last wire is repaired, Cyborg eats a fruit on the spot and his nameplate changes to Cyborg (Awakened) [Lv. 675]. At that point the fight begins and his health bar responds to damage.

Note: Fountain City hosts the Magnet Fruit event in the same area during this window, so expect other players competing for the same spawn.

Beating Cyborg (Awakened) [Lv. 675]

Cyborg fights with Rocket as his weapon type and has no Aura. His base form sits at 43,735 HP. The three moves to watch are consistent, and each one telegraphs based on your distance from him.

MoveWhat it doesHow to handle it
Air StrikeFires five rockets in a straight line, used when you keep your distanceDash sideways repeatedly or break line of sight behind the larger rocks
Rocket CrashLeaps up and slams into the groundStay out of the landing radius
Rising Fart StrikeLaunches upward and drops a green gas cloud; breaks InstinctShort range only — back off when he closes in

Buddha is the most forgiving pick here. Its size lets you absorb hits and tank through the pressure while spamming fast M1s with a high-speed sword or fighting style. Fruits with ranged or shooting moves also work well, since staying at distance avoids the gas cloud entirely.

Two things will cost you the kill. Cyborg regenerates health after roughly ten seconds without taking damage, so a slow, cautious approach can reset his bar faster than you drain it. And if you die mid-fight, you respawn well away from the junkyard. Go in with 2,000-plus Health and Energy, and skip moves that lock you in place, since standing still hands him a free Air Strike.

Rewards and how to confirm it worked

When Cyborg goes down, a chat message names you as the player who repaired the junkyard wires and put the Cyborg down. That line is the definitive confirmation the secret registered rather than a plain boss kill.

A spinner then opens and awards a random item — a Common Scroll is one of the possible pulls. After that, return to the Freezeburg Quest Giver, marked with a star icon, to turn in the objective.

The standard Cyborg quest from the Freezeburg Quest Giver requires Lv. 675 and pays $20,000 plus 10,000,000 EXP, the largest EXP payout of any First Sea quest. Individual kills also drop around $1,000, roughly 150,000 EXP, and 16,875 Bounty or Honor, with Cool Shades as a possible unique drop.

Completing this secret awards the third star for Fountain City. Collecting all three stars on an island counts toward unlocking that island’s teleporter, which makes future trips back to the junkyard considerably shorter.

Why the awakening does not trigger

  • The Secrets Master named a different island. Fountain City has to be the active one; nothing you do in the junkyard works otherwise.
  • You arrived before the spawn resolved. The event runs on the hour and takes about two minutes to appear.
  • One or more wires are still glowing. Cyborg stays immune until every damaged wire in the area has been charged.
  • You are attacking the standard Cyborg near the Workshop instead of the awakened spawn in the Junk Yard.

Fountain City’s other two secrets, the fountain pipe repair and the sewer run beneath the crane platform, can be cleared at any time with no schedule attached. The Cyborg awakening is the only one gated behind the hourly rotation, so plan around the Secrets Master check and knock the other two out while you wait for the window to come back around.
