Rapid Royale is a new battle royale mode for Battlefield Redsec, built to run faster and tighter than the full-size Redsec drop. You get smaller maps, fewer players, and a closing Ring of Fire that keeps squads bumping into each other instead of circling empty terrain for ten minutes. Kills feed directly back into the fight, so a wipe is rarely the end of your match.
Quick answer: Rapid Royale is a free-to-play Redsec mode launching October 13. You drop in Solos or Trios, earn redeploys by racking up kills, and fight through a shrinking ring of fire on smaller maps than standard battle royale.
What Rapid Royale changes about Redsec
The core Redsec loop is intact. You drop from a transport aircraft, loot for weapons and gear, and try to be the last squad standing while a lethal ring squeezes the play space. Rapid Royale compresses every part of that. Player counts are smaller, the maps are smaller and dedicated to this mode, and the circles collapse quicker, which pushes everyone into contact almost from the opening drop.

A round ends in far less time than a typical Redsec match. Players who come to Redsec for drawn-out tactical games get a faster option here, while anyone seeking nonstop firefights is exactly the audience for it.
Redsec itself remains free to play, and the whole package has been live since October 28, 2025. Rapid Royale joins the mode as part of Season 5, the “Siege of Vegas,” which also brings the fight to Las Vegas.

The thing that makes Rapid Royale tick is its redeploy system. Getting kills banks redeploys, and those redeploys drop you back into combat from a transport aircraft after you go down. On-screen, eliminations stack up as red skull counters, and a parachute badge locks on to signal that another redeploy chance is ready.

Because aggression keeps you alive, the pacing rewards players who push rather than hide. This follows the same design idea as resurgence-style modes in other battle royales, where frequent respawns replace the one-and-done tension of a standard round.

Maps, the Ring of Fire, and vehicles
Rapid Royale ships with three maps, and the footage spans an urban resort strip, a coastal industrial zone, and a desert canyon outpost. Two of those playable spaces are named: the Vegas Strip and Mirak Valley. Expect high-value loot concentrated across these smaller areas, which is part of what keeps engagements constant.
Rather than a conventional damaging gas circle, a Ring of Fire closes in on the playable area, driving squads toward the middle. Vehicles are also available: transport helicopters, followed by attack helicopters, along with dirt bikes for rapid getaways and pursuits.

Solos and Trios
Rapid Royale runs as either Solos or Trios, both with smaller player counts than the main battle royale. Trios gives you two squadmates and the full redeploy-and-revive rhythm, while Solos strips it down to you against everyone. Either way, the shorter rounds and tighter circles are the point.
When Rapid Royale launches and how to play
Rapid Royale launches October 13. It is free to play and part of the Redsec package, so there is no separate purchase to get in. You will need an EA account, a persistent internet connection, and, on consoles, a platform subscription may apply.
Redsec is available on PC through the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. If you do not already have it installed, you can grab it from the official Redsec download page.
What’s in the Battlefield Pro pass
Alongside the mode, there is a paid Battlefield Pro offering that bundles cosmetics and progression boosts. Nothing in it affects the free gameplay loop, so it is strictly optional.
| Type | Contents |
|---|---|
| Progression | 6 instant unlocks, 25 tier skips |
| Soldier skins | Smolder (NATO), Rampant Raze (PAX) |
| Weapon skins | Fire Craft (weapon), Stoker (melee) |
Rapid Royale is the fast lane into Redsec’s combat, trading the long tactical round for constant pressure and a kill-fueled comeback system. Once it goes live on October 13, you will know it has arrived the moment the mode appears in Redsec’s play menu.
