Apply the Crested enchantment at the Keepers Altar
Relics are consumed at the Keepers Altar beneath the Statue of Sovereignty, and the altar is only active at night. Turning up during the day wastes a trip.
What the Crested enchantment does
Crested slows hooked fish. The effect is limited to the fish’s movement inside the minigame control bar, so the marker you are chasing drifts more slowly and stays easier to track. It does not slow the fish anywhere else, and it does not change catch odds.

- It is daytime. The Keepers Altar simply will not activate until night.
- The wrong rod is equipped. The enchantment goes to whatever rod is currently in hand, not the one you had selected in a menu.
- You already had an enchantment you wanted to keep. Rods hold one enchantment at a time, and the new roll replaces the old one permanently.
- You have no elevator access. Without a token from Cole or the 100,000 C$ unlimited option, the descent to the altar is blocked.
Since the relic is destroyed the moment the altar takes it, the sensible order is to finish the Skycrest questline for the free one, test the enchantment on a rod you actually use, and only start grinding the 1 in 2,000 drop once you know Crested is worth a slot on your setup.
