Unlock rules, kit sources, reset refunds, and everything the September 9 update adds around the Core Link system.

Core Link is the enhancement track that quietly decides how far your combat power climbs in the late game of RF Online Next, and the September 9 update pushes it back into the spotlight with new packages, new warzone content, and a published refund table for resets. It is also one of the easier systems to waste materials on, because the success rate drops as you climb and every miss counts against a hidden failure counter.

Quick answer: Core Link opens at character level 55, each upgrade attempt consumes exactly one enhancement kit regardless of level, and a part locks after 5 failed attempts — resetting below level 10 refunds nothing, while resets at level 10 and above return part of the kits you spent.

The system becomes available once your character hits level 55. It is split into six parts that are enhanced independently, and each one raises a different mix of offensive and defensive stats. The increases are random within that part’s pool, so you steer the outcome by choosing which part to feed kits into rather than by rerolling individual rolls.

PartStats it raises
Armor Expansion PanelDEF, PVP Damage Mitigation, Skill Dmg Reduction, Crit Resistance, Critical Hit Damage, ACC, Fixed Skill Damage
Fusion ReactorATK, Weapon ATK, HP Injury Recovery, Critical Hit Rate, Fixed Skill Damage Resistance, Fixed Damage Resistance, Max HP
Predictive Computing ModuleFixed Min Damage, DEF Pierce, Debuff Hit Rate, Critical Damage Boost, Evasion, Max ATK Resistance, HP Regeneration
Boost ControllerWeapon ATK Resistance, Debuff Resistance, Skill Damage Boost, Critical Damage Reduction, Fixed Damage, Max ATK HR, FP Regeneration
Synthetic Nerve FiberDEF, Crit Resistance, Skill Damage Boost, Max ATK HR, ACC, Fixed Skill Damage Resistance, Max HP
Core ProcessorATK, Critical Hit Rate, DEF Pierce, Skill Damage Reduction, Max ATK Resistance, Evasion, Fixed Skill Damage

Milestone levels matter more than raw level count. At 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, and 42 the part grants an extra enhanced option effect on top of the normal stat growth, which makes those numbers the only sensible stopping points to plan around.

Collect the enhancement kit that belongs to the part you want to raise. One attempt always costs a single kit, and that cost never scales with level, so stockpiling early is entirely safe.
Apply the kit on the Core Link screen. The success rate begins at 100 percent and falls steadily as the level rises toward the cap of 42, and it depends only on the current level — nothing about your rolled stats changes it.
Keep going until you hit level 42 or accumulate 5 failures on that part. Once the fifth failure lands, the game blocks any further attempts on that part and shows an enhancement limit message. That message is your confirmation that the part is finished until you reset it.

Watch the grade indicator in the upper right of each stat. When a stat reaches Mythic, shown in red, the system stops feeding growth into it and redistributes future increases to stats that still have headroom. That is why chasing specific rolls here is a waste of kits compared with combat part gear.

Reset levels and refund rates

Resetting is the only way to attempt a higher level after the failure counter fills. It costs an Enhancement Reset Chip, or 500 Diamonds if you do not have a chip on hand. Expect a real drop in combat power the moment you confirm it, because the part returns to the beginning.

The refund is tied to the level you reset from, and nothing comes back below level 10.

Note: if a part stalls in single digits, the reset is a pure loss. Push it to at least 10 before pulling the trigger.

Every part uses its own dedicated kit, and the supply routes are not interchangeable. Two of them come off monsters at specific level ranges, two lean on crafting, one is craft-only, and the last is a straight Diamond purchase.

The World Market is the fastest shortcut when a part is bottlenecked, and prices there move around after an update lands, so check it before committing to a long crafting session.

Crafting removes your dependence on drops, but the material bill is heavy and the daily discount window is the part most people miss.

KitMaterials required
Fusion Reactor Enhancement Kit4x Epic Equipment (Tier 1), 16x Epic Equipment (Tier 2)
Predictive Computing Module Enhancement Kit500 Arcane Nodes for the first 50 crafts each day, then 800 Arcane Nodes
Boost Controller Enhancement Kit800 Bearer Credit Notes
Synthetic Nerve Fiber Reinforcement Kit5x Armor Expansion Panel Enhancement Kit, 5x Fusion Reactor Enhancement Kit, 1x Predictive Computing Module Enhancement Kit, 5x Boost Controller Enhancement Kit

Tip: spread Predictive Computing Module crafting across several days so every batch lands inside the 500 Arcane Node rate. Burning past 50 crafts in one sitting raises the price by 300 nodes per kit for no benefit.

Core Link supports two presets. The practical routine is to build Preset 1 as far as it goes, then move to Preset 2 and leave the first one alone. Because a reset gutts combat power immediately, having a second configuration ready to equip means you never walk into content with a stripped-down build.

Level 42 is realistically out of reach for most characters. Aiming at 28 or 35 gets you a milestone bonus without feeding the failure counter for marginal gains, and alternating presets between those targets keeps progress moving.

What the September 9 update adds

The 9/9 patch pairs the Core Link reset and refund rules above with new outer planet content, a free guild combat area, and the usual round of cosmetics and store packages. Character level achievements now extend to level 120, and Tier VIII active combat skills join the drop pool.

Albern Warzone and Tier VIII combat skills

Albern Warzone is a weekly outer planet event that runs every Wednesday at 19:20. Its dungeon bosses are Cocoon at level 93, Nether Pulverizer at level 93, Morposi at level 95, and Gigas at level 97. Defeating them is how the new Active – Combat Skills [VIII] enter your inventory, alongside the standard boss reward and monster drop tables.

Guild Training Ground and new Rovers

The Guild Training Ground is a free combat area open to any guild that has reached level 2 or higher. It sits alongside the existing group content rather than replacing it, so guilds that already cleared the level 2 requirement can enter immediately.

Two Rovers arrive with the patch, Vera and Iglea, the latter as a Linked Animus. Three Rover skins also go live: Autumn Herald Acorn, Forager Acorn, and Daytripper Acorn.

Cash Shop packages and prices

The store rotation brings a cheap Core Link entry point plus the usual seasonal items.

The short version: for anyone budgeting materials this week: keep one preset intact, stop each part at a milestone level, and never reset a part sitting below level 10. Everything else — Albern Warzone drops, crafted kits, market buys — is just how you keep the kit supply flowing.
