Chapter 5, Into the Shadows, is the closing episode of Michael’s story in Halloween: The Game, and one of its six optional challenges asks you to kill a police officer with a pitchfork execution. It sounds fiddly, but it comes down to two things: getting a pitchfork in hand and triggering the correct weapon execution on a cop.
Quick answer: Pick up one of the pitchforks near your spawn, grab a police officer, then hold the execute button and complete the weapon execution prompt. With the pitchfork equipped, it counts as a pitchfork execution and clears the challenge.
Where to find a pitchfork in Chapter 5
There are two pitchforks to grab in this chapter, and both sit close to where you start. When the level begins, you’re in the backyard of Laurie’s house, looking out toward the park by the basketball field. The game nudges you forward that way, but the weapons are behind you.
Once the two tutorial pop-ups appear, turn around and head east. The house on the east corner of the street has a pitchfork leaning against the south wall of its garage. This is the easiest one to reach out of the gate.
The second pitchfork is at the house north of the one next to Laurie’s. Look along the west wall, beside the car in the garage and near a window. Either pitchfork works for the challenge, so take whichever is closer once you get your bearings.
An alternate route to the same spot: leave the bushes at spawn, move a little north, then turn right. The first house on the right has a parked car, and the pitchfork rests against the building to the left of the car when you’re facing it.
Tip: Once you reach Bloodthirst level 3, you can use Stalk to highlight weapons around the map, including pitchforks. That makes locating one far quicker if you don’t spot it on foot.
How to perform the pitchfork execution on a cop
Confirming the challenge cleared and common failures
The challenge completes the moment the pitchfork execution lands on a cop, and you’ll see the challenge notification confirming it. If nothing registers, the usual reasons are that you executed a resident instead of a police officer, or that the pitchfork wasn’t equipped when you performed the kill.
If you missed both pitchforks on your way out, don’t rush the sewer or train-track escape. Build Bloodthirst to level 3, use Stalk to pinpoint a pitchfork, and only leave Haddonfield once the execution is done.
