Star Citizen’s Orison Relief Now Needs 72,000 Contribution: How to Prepare

Orison Relief Support is the community effort that arrived with Alpha 4.10.1 on the Public Test Universe, built around rebuilding Crusader’s cloud city after the Nine-Tails attack. It runs on a shared contribution track rather than per-mission payouts, and the latest PTU tuning slashed how much work that track demands.

Quick answer: The relief track now requires 72,000 total contribution instead of 288,000. Pull relief contracts from your mobiGlas, and run them in a group, because contribution is not divided among members.

What the 75 percent contribution cut changes

The requirement for finishing the full track dropped from 288,000 contribution to 72,000. That is a straight 75 percent reduction, and it is the single biggest reason the event is now realistic for players who are not grinding it all week.

The contracts themselves were not made easier. Mission objectives, cargo amounts, and enemy counts are unchanged. What moved is the experience each mission awards toward the track, alongside the far lower total you need to reach.

The other meaningful change is on the payout side. Track rewards are handed over as permanent items in your account hangar rather than as blueprints you then have to manufacture.

Orison Relief contract types and what each one asks for

Contracts rotate through the mobiGlas contract manager and cover a spread of playstyles, so there is no single correct career to grind. Crafting, hauling, salvage, delivery, and combat work all feed the same pool.

ContractActivityTask

Medical Aid HaulingHaulingMove medical supplies and iodine
Medical Aid DeliveryDeliveryDrop supplies at Orison rooftops
Crafted AidCraftingProduce prototype thrusters
Ship AmbushShip combatIntercept threats to supply lines
Ship Wave AttackShip combatDefend against enemy waves

Medical pickups originate at New Babbage or Port Tressler, so plan a route that does not leave you flying an empty hold in one direction. Construction runs terminate at either Orison or Seraphim Station.

Crafted Aid and prototype thrusters

Crafted Aid is the outlier. Instead of moving someone else’s cargo, you manufacture prototype thrusters and then deliver the finished units. If you already keep crafting materials stocked, this is contribution you can bank without leaving a safe area for long.

Salvage contribution

Salvage counts toward the track as well, which matters if your loadout is already built around hull scraping and RMC rather than cargo grids. It is a reasonable fallback when the rotating contract list is heavy on hauls you cannot fit.

Where to turn in small, medium, and large missions

Turn-in points split by mission size, and getting this wrong costs you a full round trip. Small and medium contracts are handed in at Orison. Large contracts go to Seraphim Station instead.

That split should drive which contracts you accept. If you are flying a light hauler or a delivery ship, the small and medium work keeps you inside the Orison landing loop. Larger cargo ships are better pointed at the big supply hauls, since the station destination suits an orbital approach rather than a descent through Crusader’s atmosphere.

Freight elevators now cap how many items can be unstowed at once, so stage cargo in batches rather than dumping an entire hold’s worth of boxes in one go.

Group play: Contribution is not split between players

This is the part worth reorganizing your evening around. Contribution experience is awarded to each member of a party in full, not divided among them. A four-person group finishing the same contract generates four times the track progress that one player would.

Practically, that means the fastest path to 72,000 is a coordinated crew running the same contract together, even when a single ship could technically carry the whole load. Combat contracts benefit twice over, since extra guns also cut how long a wave defense takes.

What the relief track unlocks

The shared track pays out three new FPS weapons and three armor pieces. Because those arrive as permanent account hangar items, you do not need to source materials or run a manufacturing step before you can use them.

Progress is collective. You are pushing a community bar forward rather than filling a personal one mission by mission, which is why the lowered ceiling changes the math so much for anyone logging in casually.

How to confirm your contribution registered

Accept and complete a relief contract from the mobiGlas contract manager, delivering to the correct turn-in point for its size.
Open your Journal and select the Orison Relief entry. The entry carries the event message along with the current contribution total against the 72,000 goal.

Check the number moved after your turn-in. If the total is unchanged, the contract did not register as complete, and the delivery needs to be finished at its assigned location.

Everything here is still PTU tuning, so the contribution values and mission rewards can shift before the build reaches live servers. No official date for the live release has been confirmed. If you want to lock in the weapons and armor, the sensible move is to build a group now, agree on whether you are running Orison-side small contracts or Seraphim-bound hauls, and keep your crafting materials topped up for the thruster work.
