Marvel’s Wolverine: Shinjuku Shuffle Nightmare Door 8 Adamantium Guide

Where to find Nightmare Door 8 in Bad Blood, the full traversal route, and the exact time needed for Adamantium.

Where to find Nightmare Door 8 in Bad Blood, the full traversal route, and the exact time needed for Adamantium.

Shinjuku Shuffle is the eighth Nightmare Door trial in Marvel’s Wolverine, and it swaps claws for footwork. Instead of a fight, you get a timed traversal course strung across Shinjuku’s rooftops, ziplines, and neon billboards, with a single objective on the HUD: reach the exit. The top Adamantium rank is tight but very achievable on a clean run.

Quick answer: During the Bad Blood chapter, follow the purple roots up the building after the street fight to reach Nightmare Door 8, then finish the course in under 0:57 for Adamantium.

Shinjuku Shuffle medal times and rewards

The trial is scored purely on elapsed time. The medal tiers sit on the right side of the screen the whole way through, so you always know which rank you are still on pace for.

RankTime required
AdamantiumUnder 0:57
GoldUnder 1:00
SilverUnder 1:10
Bronze1:10 or slower

Clearing the course pays out immediately, whatever your rank:

  • +1 Strand, spendable in the Adaptations tab.
  • AP toward your Ability Points total, which caps at 50/50.
  • Adaptation XP, with better ranks paying more.

Only one Adamantium rank is needed across all 15 Nightmare Trials, so a short traversal course like this one is a good place to spend your retries.

Nightmare Door 8 location in Bad Blood

Door 8 sits on the Bad Blood story path, during the stretch where the objective reads “Meet Jean outside Shiro’s building.” Like every Nightmare Door, it is signposted by thick purple roots, and this set appears directly in front of you on the street once you finish off the group of enemies there.

Follow the roots up the side of the building. Logan claws into the wall and pulls himself onto a balcony, then you cross a small rooftop garden and step into a damaged greenhouse.

Inside the dark room beyond, a purple flaming sword materializes. Walk up to it and take the ENTER TRIAL prompt to start Shinjuku Shuffle.

Shinjuku Shuffle route for an Adamantium time

The course is a single line with no branching, and red neon arrows painted on the billboards and structures point the way at every turn. Momentum is what decides the rank, so the goal is to never stop moving and never hunt for the next handhold. A run of roughly 56 seconds lands comfortably inside the Adamantium window.

The trial opens with a three-second countdown in a dark, vine-covered tunnel. Start running the instant the timer releases you, because the clock is already ticking.

Sprint out of the tunnel, jump the gap in the road, and land on the lamppost ahead. Use it to carry your speed forward rather than stopping to line up the next jump.
Wall-run the surface in front of you, climb the pole at the end, then swing along the horizontal bars and drop onto the zipline. Hold your direction through the swings so Logan chains them without a pause.

Land on the fire truck below, swing off the next bar, and slide down the rooftop on the far side. The slide feeds straight into the billboard section, so do not fight the descent.
Climb and jump your way across the run of large neon billboards and signs. This is the longest stretch of the course and where most time is lost, so follow the red arrows instead of looking for shortcuts.

Take the zipline over to the circular tower, then claw-climb straight up its side. From the top, leap out onto the floating platforms.

Confirming the Adamantium rank and spending the Strand

The results screen tells you instantly whether the run counted. It lists your Time alongside your Best Time, prints the rank in large text above them, and offers RETRY or CONTINUE. If the rank reads Adamantium and your time starts with 00:56 or lower, the trial is done at the highest tier and you never have to run it again.

Watch the AP counter in the corner as the rewards resolve. It ticks up one point at a time and stops at 50/50 once you are capped. You will also see a +1 STRAND payout, followed by a reminder that you have unused Strands available and should open the pause menu and head to the Adaptations tab to spend them. Strands sitting unspent do nothing for you, so cash them in before moving on.

Take CONTINUE rather than RETRY once you have the rank you want. Retrying overwrites nothing, since the game keeps your best time, but it does put you back at the starting tunnel.

Replaying Shinjuku Shuffle after the story

Nothing about Door 8 is missable. If you walked past the roots in Bad Blood or settled for a Bronze on the first attempt, you can return through chapter select by interacting with the bed in the Nightmare Cabin. The Collectible Tracker in the pause menu also shows how many Nightmare Doors you have found so far.

Coming back later is the easier path anyway. Post-story Logan has more of the skill tree unlocked, and a course that leans entirely on traversal gets noticeably smoother with those upgrades in hand.
