The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Unlock The Tsarina’s Favourite Human Trophy

Every sanzhani task, where each fairy hides, and the extra in-game day you earn for finishing the chain.

Every sanzhani task, where each fairy hides, and the extra in-game day you earn for finishing the chain.

The sanzhani are the tiny, fairy-like creatures scattered around Vale Sangora in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and helping every one of them pays off twice. You get a bronze trophy for the collection, and you get something far more useful for your run — a full extra day before Brencis’s coronation.

Quick answer: Complete Good Home to meet the Sanzhani Tsarina, then finish Come Hither, Pearly and Precious, Burrow Sorrows, and Tiny Dancer. Return to Tsarina’s burrow afterwards to claim the trophy and rewards.

What The Tsarina’s Favourite Human trophy requires

The trophy description is blunt: complete every task given by the sanzhani. In practice that means one gateway quest plus four follow-ups, all of which only appear after you have met Sanzhani Tsarina in her burrow. It is a bronze trophy on PlayStation, with an equivalent achievement on PC and Xbox.

Every completed task lets Tsarina pass one message between you and your imprisoned sister Lunka, so leaving the chain until the final days of the in-game clock means you lose out on messages you can never get back.

Good Home quest walkthrough: the gateway to the sanzhani

Good Home unlocks once the prologue is over, and it costs between two and eight time segments depending on how thoroughly you play it. Completing it awards 100 EXP and one skill point, but the real prize is access to the rest of the sanzhani.

Inside the cottage during Good Home, where the trail to the sanzhani begins
Travel to the Svartrau Outskirts, directly north of the Sandy Gorge Shrine. Glowing mushroom fairy rings mark the trail, and following them east through the forest leads you to a burrow entrance. Crouch to go inside.
Speak to Heile, the girl living in the burrow, and agree to look for her brother Tonis. Before you leave, make sure you are carrying beer or wine — you will need a drink later, and both are common loot from human enemies and chests.
Head southwest to the ruined village of Oghasti. Use Focus Mode to spot the house marked with a blood cross by the door, then go inside and inspect everything highlighted, including the woman’s corpse. This step is technically optional, but it is what unlocks the best dialogue later.
Continue to the Wooden Palace southwest of Oghasti. The clues that matter are upstairs — inspect the candles and the chair. While you are up there you will spot smoke rising to the west, which points you at the coal burners’ camp.
Talk to the Coal Burner Chief at the camp and ask about Tonis, then follow the trees marked with Xs to the northeast. Watch for a bear on the way. Tonis is chopping wood alone by a campfire.
Pick the option offering Tonis a drink rather than offering to help him chop. Helping burns three time segments; the drink costs you nothing. Explain what Heile told you, then ask him to follow you straight back to the burrow.

Heile’s fate: both endings still unlock the sanzhani quests

Inside the burrow, Tsarina reveals herself and argues with Tonis over where Heile belongs. You can side with either of them, and the choice has no bearing on the trophy.

  • Let Heile stay: Work through “Tonis, Heile is happy here. Let her stay” and “You can’t provide for her.” The quest ends on the spot.
  • The clean version: “She’s safe here. For the first time in her life” only appears if you investigated the family house in Oghasti. Pick it and Tsarina lets Tonis visit.
  • The bad version: Without that investigation you are left with “We humans — are we so much better?” Tonis storms off, and returning a day later finds him dead at the burrow entrance.
  • Let Heile leave: Tsarina asks for three Shiny Teeth in exchange. They are a rare random drop from dead humans and the undead, so raid soldier or bandit camps until you have three, then hand them in.

However Good Home ends, you pick up the overarching Letters to Lunka quest and the other four sanzhani appear on the map.

All four sanzhani quest locations and how to finish them

Each of these can be done in any order. After every one, go back to Tsarina to send a letter, and the sanzhana you helped will turn up living in her burrow.

Come Hither: kill Murohn and grab the Silk Threads

Head north of the Vedera March Guardpost Shrine to find a sanzhana asking you to clear monsters out of her burrow. Her sisters inside are already dead, but killing the Murohn, Malformed Monstrosity still counts. Before you leave, pick up the bundle of Silk Threads in the burrow — they are a crafting requirement for the Arbiter Armor set in A Bulwark Against Darkness.

Pearly and Precious: clear the bandit ditch

Southeast of the Military Camp, cross the bridge at the Small Bridge Shrine and investigate the abandoned camp to start the quest. Follow the trail to a sanzhana who collects teeth from the corpses bandits dump in a nearby ditch. Head southwest, kill the bandits, and report back to her.

Burrow Sorrows: the kobold den and the charm

North of the Boarback Trail Shrine, northwest of Shrike’s Crag, a sanzhana claims kobolds have taken over her den. Crouch to enter the cave to the north and wipe them out. Take the charm from their crude shrine before you leave, because once you step outside you learn she was lying — the den was never hers, and it is now.

Tiny Dancer: the caged sanzhana in Svartrau

This one only triggers at night. Patrol the rooftops in the centre of Svartrau until Coen mentions hearing a noise, then use Focus Mode to trace it to the upper floor of a nearby house. Enter through the balcony on the east side, take the key from the desk in the same room, and open the cage. The freed sanzhana points you toward silver stashed in an adjoining room.

Rewards: Lunka’s letters, Silk Threads, and one extra day

Tsarina’s letters are the practical payoff during the run. Lunka is held in the cells of Greifberg Castle, and each message she sends back tells you something about infiltrating the place and what waits inside.

Once all five sanzhani have been dealt with, two more things open up. You can buy a bundle of Silk Threads from the sanzhana now living in Tsarina’s burrow, and talking to Tsarina herself convinces her to push Brencis’s coronation back by a full day. That is the one known way to extend the in-game time limit, which makes this chain worth prioritising early rather than saving for a cleanup pass.

How to confirm the trophy unlocked

Tiny Dancer is the last sanzhana you need to find, so the trophy pops after you return to Tsarina in her burrow and wrap up the final task. The confirmation is the trophy or achievement notification for The Tsarina’s Favourite Human, backed up by Tsarina’s offer to delay the coronation and by the Silk Threads appearing in the burrow’s stock. If none of that has happened, one of the four follow-up quests is still sitting incomplete in your log.
