Part 7 of Aniimo’s beta run is the point where two long threads finally close. One is the rank promotion that has been sitting in your quest log since the level gate opened, handled entirely through a short quiz with Dr. Lewis at the Outpost. The other is the Mistwoods detour inside Ancient and Sacred Fragrance, which ends with a giant plant Aniimo pulling itself out of the swamp and a three-part fetch chain to wake it up properly.

Quick answer: Answer Dr. Lewis’s three questions at the Outpost to earn the Novice Pathfinder title, then defeat Tuckin in Mistwoods to unlock Binding Oath and collect its three Vine Cores for Selens.

Requirements before starting Part 7

The promotion is gated by Elite Training criteria rather than by story progress, so it is worth confirming your numbers before walking over to Dr. Lewis. Everything else in the chapter assumes you already have fire-capable Aniimo on the roster, since burning vines is the main traversal tool in Mistwoods.

Hit Level 40 and 30 Aniimo

The Elite Training panel spells out the two thresholds for the assessment: character Level 40 and 30 Aniimo registered. If either is short, the Q&A with Dr. Lewis will not open, no matter how far the main story has moved.

Submit Aniimo research reports at the Outpost terminal

The fastest way to close a level gap is the research console at the Outpost. Handing in Aniimo reports pays out credits and experience in bulk, and it is what pushes the character to Level 40 and Research Level 5 in one sitting.

Keep the RV track ticking over

Homeland progress runs in parallel and is not required for any of the quests below, but the RV upgrade menu lists its prerequisites and reward tiers openly, including decorative hair styles and Aniimo eggs. Checking it before a long field trip means you are not backtracking later.

Novice Pathfinder promotion assessment with Dr. Lewis

Dr. Lewis stands at the Outpost and runs the Novice Pathfinder Promotion Assessment as a three-question quiz. There is no combat trial attached to this one. Answer all three correctly and the title is awarded immediately, along with the assessment rewards.

The three questions cover:

  • How sparkling Aniimo are obtained
  • Aniimo traits and what they affect
  • Holo-Battle Sim strategy

Once the Novice Pathfinder title lands, open Elite Training and sweep the completed research milestones. The Required Tutorial, Aniimo Training and World Exploration tracks all have claimable tiers sitting behind the rank bump, and the Character Info screen shows the Growth tree aptitudes you can spend on next.

Finishing Warrior and Fists I at Beast Fang Ridge

Warrior unlocks from the clue about Inferlupa’s flying head and is a night-time job, so set the in-game clock forward before you travel. Fast travel via Bloom to Beast Fang Ridge and follow the tracker to Inferlupa.

Speak to Inferlupa and switch Aniimo forms as prompted. It talks about the Undefeated Warrior but will not fight you yet, which is the cue to go looking for the rest of the story.
Run through the forest of withered trees until you find the gossip circle of Emberpups with the Flameruff boss. The cutscene has Flameruff recount its challenge against the old chief and hands you the Spirit Link: Inferlupa – Old clue.
Return to Inferlupa and challenge it. The fight is against a Level 37 Inferlupa, and the reliable route is stacking elemental hits to break its shield before committing to damage.
Watch The Immortal Warrior cutscene covering Icho and Inferlupa’s rivalry and the blooming of the Blazing Ridgeback Trees, then talk to Inferlupa again to log the Legend of Thousand-Ridge Fang travelogue entry.
Fast travel back to the Outpost and speak to Icho about the Thousand-Ridge Fang blossoming. That conversation closes Fists I.

Why the Flameruff fight matters for Scorchhowl

Scorchhowl cannot evolve until its screen has Unbroken Flameruff Spirit, which you obtain by beating Flameruff at the Thousand-Ridge Fang. If you bypassed that battle while pursuing the clue, you must return there before the evolution unlocks.

The skill fires a Flameruff Spirit that ricochets between targets and prioritizes whichever one was locked on at launch. Each hit adds 10% BREAK efficiency against that target, stacking up to three times and lasting 20 seconds. It ricochets five times as standard and seven while in the Full Energy state.

Journey for Fragrance: Beast Fang Ridge

A short delivery job sits in the same region. Track the quest and find the Emberpup That Smells Nice inside the Flameruff group, which hands over a Flareburst Flower and the story of the perfumer Ranka.

Teleport to Bloomville, cut through the lavender fields and submit Flareburst Flower x1 to Ranka. She returns the Heartfire Orange perfume, and the quest closes on the spot.

Mistwoods route and the Tucking boss fight

Set tracking back to Ancient and Sacred Fragrance. The entry point is the Sanctum: Burn Your Way Out near Nimbus Fields, and from there you head north into Mistwoods proper.

Meet Nico and Sunia at the Mistwoods entrance. The cutscene sets up the mist, the dangerous swamps, and the hunt for black truffles needed to recreate the ancient fragrance.
Activate the luminous Glimmer Trees as you go. They cut through the fog and reveal the paths, and one of them sits next to Rhaven the Perfumer and the Black Truffle Shop.
Work through the forest collecting Old Truffle Hunter’s Notes and Mutant Truffles. Expect Level 39 to 40 Hummin on the way, and use fire attacks to burn the thick vine barriers blocking the route onto the elevated stone ruins.
Interact with the glowing Bloom marker on the cliff to pick up the Shhh! clue, which explains how to wake Tucker in the mud. The open clearing beyond it is the arena.

Trigger the cutscene and fight the boss, listed as a Level 25 Animo Omega: Tuckin. It leans on earth shields and ground slams, so dodge the telegraphed slam, then break the shield and follow up with a combo while it is exposed.

Clearing Tuckin is what unlocks the Binding Oath side quest in Mistwoods, so do not leave the region straight after the fight.

Binding Oath: collecting the three Vine Cores

Defeating the boss sends you into the Sanctum: Maze of Roots, a cavern below ground. Inside, a Strange Hummin untwines and reveals itself as a human boy called Selens. He recounts Perfumer K’s history, the Beautiful Voice Perfume, and the promise made to Tucker more than a hundred years ago. Selens then requests three Vine Cores to bring vitality back to Tucker’s vines. Speaking with him also records the Legend of Mist and Light travelogue entry.

ThirdOuter cliff ruins above the toxic waterChildhood memory illustration, loot
Cross the ruins, lighting Glimmer Trees as you climb. A Level 54 Witchin patrols the stone arches and is far above the surrounding mobs, so break its defenses before trading hits.
Climb the upper masonry and activate the first flower vine core. The memory fragment plays automatically, and there is a treasure chest next to it.
Head through the toxic swamp pools into the dark cave system running toward Berylline Causeway. Ignite the dark bramble vines inside to light the area, then pluck the second Vine Core from the glowing floral vine.

Follow the blue luminous plants out of the cave, burn the doorway vines and teleport back to the Mistwoods bloom. Climb the outer cliff ruins over the toxic water for the third and final Vine Core, which triggers the closing childhood memory illustration.
Drop back into the Maze of Roots and hand all three cores to Selens. He reflects on the ancestral memories, and the sanctum portal there can be used to clear the Sanctum: Rigged Maze challenge and its clear chest before you surface.
Find Selens again on the cliff overlooking the swamp, where Tucker wakes up. He presents the Beautiful Voice Perfume, keeps the promise, and Binding Oath completes.

Optional Mistwoods content in the same trip

Two small jobs sit inside the same stretch of swamp and are easy to miss once the story pulls you onward:

  • A Peculiar Hummin hides in the bushes. Twine to speak with it, beat it in combat, and it explains the Witchins’ singing.
  • Dr. Glass runs a research trial. Twine with a Hummin and use Shock Waves from the Roaring Luminous Fruit to stun six wild Hummins inside the time limit.
  • Twining with an Aniimo also lets you slip past the slacking Witchin guards and eavesdrop on their conversation about Tucker and human twining.

How to confirm Part 7 is finished

There are four clear confirmations, and they arrive in this order. The Novice Pathfinder title appears on your profile after Dr. Lewis’s quiz. The Legend of Thousand-Ridge Fang travelogue entry logs after the post-battle chat with Inferlupa, and Fists I closes once Icho finishes his piece back at the Outpost. Legend of Mist and Light logs the moment you speak to the Strange Hummin below Mistwoods. Finally, Binding Oath x1 lands in your inventory alongside the Glimmer, Credits, Fame and Knowledge payout when Selens reaches Tucker.

With those cleared, the rest of the chapter is cleanup at your own pace: infusing Lumin Amber into the Branch of Breezy Plains for Branchborne Gifts, a Shining Star audition run with a grass-theme Aniimo, and the Aniimo Great Discovery search that points you at Blitzwood for Fulmintis, Bolty and Wisptis around Level 33 to 34. Reporting those catches at the Outpost terminal feeds straight back into the level curve for Part 8.
