Wisptis comes in three regional versions, and the Forest Form is the one that trades pure Dark typing for a Dark/Grass combination. It does not appear alongside the Basic Form in Berylline Vale, and it will not turn up in the Highland Form’s territory either. There is exactly one place to look for it, and only during one part of the day.
Quick answer: Wisptis Forest Form spawns only in The Mistwoods, inside Breezy Plains, and only at night. Head to the narrow ridge path at the top of the region and catch one there.
Where Wisptis Forest Form spawns
The Mistwoods is the only habitat for this form. Open your map in Breezy Plains and look at the northern edge of the Mistwoods area, where a long, thin path runs along the high ground. The coordinates to aim for are -1020, 1341.

Once you are on the ridge, run the length of the trail rather than camping one spot. Roughly five to seven Wisptis sit scattered along it, so a single sweep usually gives you several chances to twine or capture.

Wisptis sleeps at night, which is exactly when it appears. A backstab lands a 1.5x multiplier, and BREAK damage also applies at 1.5x, so approaching quietly from behind is the fastest way to soften one up before throwing.

The base catch chance on a wild spawn is 50%, so expect to burn a few attempts. A Sparkling version exists at odds of 1 in 20,000.

All three versions share the same species, the same DPS role, and the same Lumin Stage placement. The split is regional, and the giveaway is the second element plus where you found it.
| Form | Elements | Habitat |
|---|---|---|
| Wisptis (Basic) | Dark | |
| Forest Form | Dark / Grass | |
| Highland Form | Dark / Fire | Zephyrus Landbridge, Blitzwood |
Every one of them is a night spawn. If you are catching at night in the wrong region, you will simply get the wrong form, not nothing.
Wisptis Forest Form stats, skills, and traits
| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 82 | P.DEF | 65 | |
| 112 | M.DEF | 59 | |
| 43 | REGEN | 77 | |
| Total | 438 | Stage | Lumin |
Its trait is Battle Fervor, which grants a stack of Battlelust on every kill for 25% more damage over 20 seconds, up to two stacks. That pairs well with clearing groups of smaller creatures, where kills come quickly enough to keep both stacks alive.
For combat it runs three skills. Scythe Dance and Forest Whirl are the same spinning multi-hit attack in different elements, each costing 20 EP with 60 power and each stacking a 4% self damage buff per hit up to 32% for 10 seconds. Dark Dash tackles a target and raises basic attack damage by 40% for 10 seconds. Its innate attack is a close-range Dark strike.
Outside combat it has Fly Lv. 1 for pathfinding and Cloak as its mobility skill. Its Homeland abilities are Artisanship, Grass, and Dark, all at Lv. 1.
Evolving Wisptis Forest Form into Ignitis
Catching one is only half the job if you want the Nova Stage version. The Forest Form evolves into Forest Ignitis, and it has a location requirement that the Basic Form does not.

- Your Wisptis Forest Form must be at least Lv. 29.
- Beat three consecutive Wisptis matching your own Form.
- Be in The Mistwoods or Blitzwood when you evolve.
- Pay the cost of Night Stone x3.
The “same form” wording matters. Defeating Basic or Highland Wisptis does not count toward the streak, so the Mistwoods ridge doubles as both your catching spot and your evolution grind. The Fulmintis branch, which needs a Fulminous Soul and Roar Stone x3, is only available from the Basic Form.
Line up the level, the three consecutive wins, and your position on the map before you commit, since the conditions have to be satisfied together.
Confirming you caught the right form
Once you catch it, open the Aniilog. Forest Form appears as No. 40B, between Wisptis (No. 40A) and Highland Wisptis (No. 40C). Its entry displays Dark and Grass element icons, and says that fungi in the fog make their shells grayish-green before releasing spores with each wing flap.
If the entry shows only a Dark icon, you picked up the Basic Form and are in the wrong region. A Dark and Fire pairing means you found the Highland Form instead.
What it counters and what counters it
The dual typing widens both ends. As Grass it hits Water and Earth harder, and as Dark it hits Grass, Lightning, and Light harder. Incoming, it takes 2.56x from Wind, which is by far its worst matchup, and 1.6x from Fire, Light, and Dark. Earth attacks are heavily reduced at 0.391x, with Grass and Water sitting at 0.625x.
With 82 HP and a 438 stat total it is fragile for a front-line attacker, so it wants a healer or shield alongside it and should be swapped out entirely against Wind enemies. Put its Potential development into ATK, and on the personality side the S (Practical) letter does the most work with its flat 4% damage increase.
Once you have a Forest Form in hand, the fastest route to the rest of the line is staying put. The same ridge in The Mistwoods supplies the extra Wisptis you need to defeat for the evolution streak, and it is one of the two regions where the evolution itself is allowed to happen.
